Evolutionists are fond of their "explanations" for the development of life forms, and for why some life forms have not changed in many alleged millions of years. Never mind that the explanations fail to satisfy, and even raise more questions; they must keep their worldview intact despite the facts. Of course, comparing fossilized critters to their living counterparts and finding little to no relevant changes does actually supports creationist models.
