Flowering Plants Further Disrupt Darwinism

Image
People who study origins and evolution have heard of Darwin's Abominable Mystery. Like the irreducibly complex eye was a serious problem for Darwin  (yet he still believed in gradual evolution anyway), the fact that flowering plants appear in the fossil record too soon was another problem for him. Neither was resolved. Evolutionists are prone to lying to con people to accept evolution, and they did so a spell back about DAM . This time, however, they are honest about the inescapable conclusion (based on their systems) that flowering plants existed millions of years sooner than they previously thought. Phylica pubescens , WikiComm  Marco Schmidt ( CC BY-SA 3.0 ) Something that adds to their problem is that a flower found in amber is a Phylicia, which is basically identical to its living counterparts. It did not see fit to evolve after being subjected to "evolutionary pressures" through all those alleged millions of years. In addition, there should be a chain reaction in e

Ammonite in Burmese Amber Baffles Scientists

Image
Amber is fascinating for scientists, since it is such a preservative of old life forms. In fact, it also works against deep-time proponents. (One example of this is the preservation of amino acids .) Today we shall consider the preservation of an ammonite in a chunk of Burmese amber. Ammonites were extinct cephalopods with shells, so they have no relation to the wicked descendants of Ben-Ammi mentioned in the Bible. But you probably knew those details. Since amber is hardened tree resin, how did a deceased marine creature end up there? Credit: PNAS via Wikimedia Commons ( CC BY 4.0 ) (Usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) Ammonites varied in size, so they were not too large to become encased in a small chunk of amber. Its placement is the greater puzzle. Secular scientists have tried various rescuing devices, but they don't hold water. Plugging the data into a biblical creation science Genesis Flood model provides a far better explanation. Discovered in Myanmar, the

Fossil Storytime with the Friends of Papa Darwin

Image
Regular readers know that biblical creationists encourage people to think for themselves instead of accepting any pronouncement as scientific fact. As we have seen many times, observed evidence is interpreted according to worldviews. Further, many "explanations" are actually just-so stories. Image credit: Freeimages /  Edwin Pijpe Paleontologists and other scientists commence to doing some interesting research, but contaminate it with their naturalistic narrative. It's almost like watching Adrian Monk say, " Here's what happened ". Secularists are not telling us what happened, nothing actually scientific and verifiable, but historical fictions instead. The article linked below has discussions about narratives regarding insects in amber, huge penguins of the past, and others. In their zeal to promote Darwinism and reject Creation, some of them even contradict themselves. Look at the fossil evidence presented here, and ask if the Darwinian stories to

Amino Acids in Amber?

Image
In their efforts to convince people about universal common ancestor evolution, its proponents continue to use circular reasoning and incomplete research. As see in other posts, amber is a mighty fine for preserving things. Amino acids have been discovered in it. Credit: Morguefile / GaborfromHungary Although amber preserves things exceptionally well, it is not perfect. Especially over millions of Darwin years. Proteins can deteriorate even there. Cosmic rays, temperature variations and other aspects of nature don't help matters. Using the same bad logic that was applied to dinosaur proteins , a test involving proteins and amber was run and then extrapolated over a huge amount of time. Try as they might to get away from the truth, reason and evidence support recent creation. If this doesn’t take the cake for soft tissue preservation: intact amino acids in amber said to be 100 million years old! Even this one evoked a ‘wow’ response from Jon Tennant at the PLoS Paleonto

Mites in Amber Stymie Evolutionists

Image
People who believe in deep time and particles-to-paleontologist evolution are not having success when studying amber. This tree resin trapped insects and other critters long ago, which trapped and encased them. It is an excellent way of preserving them, and has been friendly to biblical creation science and provided evidence for a young earth. Credit: Freeimages/ Krzysztof (Kriss) Szkurlatowski Many people are familiar with amber in jewellery, and some are fascinated by seeing bugs in it. Of course, uncluttered amber can also be mounted on a ring or in a necklace. They are told and pass along the secularists' claim that the amber is millions of years old, but that is based on tendentious interpretations of data and spurious dating methods. Mites were found in amber, and they were dated at 230 million Darwin years. Problem is, there wasn't any appreciable change between them and their modern counterparts. This is where Darwinists circle the wagons and cry, "Stasis!

Amber, Blood Cells, and Faith in Evolutionary Magic

Image
Let me get this straight. Someone or something takes a chunk out of a tree, it bleeds sap, an insect gets trapped in it, and the whole thing turns to amber after a few zillion years. Not hardly! Sap and resin are different things, and when an insect or other critter gets trapped in amber, it doesn't just hang out and turn into a fossil. I recommend reading " Sticky Situations " for some basics on amber . Credit: Pixabay / PublicDomainPictures While amber has been fascinating for many years, whether for jewellery or curiosity's sake, it has been receiving a great deal of attention in recent years. An ant beetle showed no change after all those assumed Darwin years, the claim of bird wings in amber backfired, assertions of dinosaur feathers in amber are ridiculous, and more. Now there's a new discovery that baffles the evolutionary cult of death. This new item shows a tick, blood cells, and one-celled organisms that live in blood cells. That's pretty i

A Feathered Dinosaur Tail in Amber?

Image
There is a featured article here, and links follow to additional material. Secularists have been making a lot of noise in the press lately, whoopin' and hollerin' about a bit of amber that they claim contains a dinosaur feather. We should be used to this kind of unbridled excitement, and you'd think the advocates of particles-to-paleontologist evolution would have learned to slow down and examine all the facts before making grandiose proclamations. After all, they made silly claims about dinosaur feathers in the past, and made much about nothing with Nebraska Man  — among other follies. Image credit: Freeimages / Edwin Pijpe Amber is a product of trees (evergreens have it) that is similar to sap, but much thicker. When a tree is damaged, it secretes resin to cover the wound. Insects and other small critters would get trapped in the sticky stuff, and it fossilized into amber. (Yes, I said fossilized, even though it hasn't been permineralized.) People make jewel

Ant Beetle in Amber

Image
Aside from being the name of a color, amber is fossilized tree resin. Paleontologists love it, because it trapped insects and things, and preserved them. Nowadays, scientists can examine the fossils. (Amber with bugs in it is also used as jewelry, which strikes me as a mite odd.) A new discovery of an ant beetle in amber is called a "transitional fossil". Really? Credit: Pixabay / PublicDomainPictures Mayhaps one reason there's so much disagreement about "transitional fossils" (supposedly something evolving into something else) is that the definition of the term is so loose. I reckon it means that something looks like maybe it could be similar to something else. This new ant fossil? They're really reaching when they call it "transitional". If ancient history according to Scripture is true, then what should we expect to find in animal fossils? Surely excellent body designs would top the list, closely followed by a lack of "transitio
