There are small critters in Central and South America have been given the name "poison dart frogs". Most have bright colors, but if you find yourself near them, resist the urge to pick them up. They are toxic, some are dangerously so. The Cambrian layers were supposedly formed hundreds of millions of evolutionary years ago, but there's a passel of fully formed creatures, mostly invertebrates.
