Disagreements on Dark Matter

Image
It amazes this child that sciency folks believe in things they cannot see or test, but dark matter is at the top of the list along with the Big Bang, cosmic and biological evolution, deep time, and all that good stuff. Creationists tend to reject dark matter because it is a rescuing device for the Big Bang. Also, it can only be inferred, not observed. When searching for images at NASA, I noticed that there were numerous articles where scientists were amazed because the supposed dark matter did not behave in a manner that secular cosmologists expect. Some are getting on the prod about how it constantly defies explanation, and are proposing a replacement. Hubble image of galaxies, NASA , ESA, & J. Lotz & HFF Team (STScI) (usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) A few secular cosmologists believe in Modified Newtonian Dynamics. It is thought that this approach to science offers better explanations for what is observed that trying to use dark matter. Of course, the majo

Big Bang Opposed by Stars

Image
The Big Bang has been frequently Frankensteined with rescuing devices when observed data do not fit the deep-time narrative. After all, it has very little resemblance to what was proposed early in the twentieth century. Biblical creationists are not the only ones who reject the Big Bang . Some folks think that, according to their physics, the universe should not even exist ! Others are beginning to ride for the oscillating universe brand again . A new observation may cause more secularists to abandon the Big Bang, or at least do some more Frankensteining to salvage it. Tucana Dwarf Galaxy and 47 Tucanae, ESA / Hubble & NASA (usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) It is thought that there is a supermassive black hole at the center of our own Milky Way galaxy. (Fun fact: Galaxy  is ultimately derived from the Greek word  galaxías , part of which means milk .) A black hole cannot be observed because of its immense gravitational force — not even light can escape. They eat

Return of the Cosmic Crash!

Image
Think back to those thrilling school days when you were taught that there were three main beliefs about the universe in the secular science industry. The most popular is the heavily-Frankensteined Big Bang, which violates scientific laws . Another unscientific idea was the steady-state universe that continually replenished itself. The cyclic  or oscillating  model presents the idea that the universe goes way out, slows down, then collapses in on itself, setting up another Big Bang. It keeps on a-trucking back and forth. Now a "new" idea has been proposed using the also-unscientific oscillating model. Made at photofunny with a NASA / ESA image (usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) In their efforts to deny the Creator and evidence of a young universe (at least, younger than is convenient to atheistic materialism), Big Bang proponents utilize things like dark matter  and dark energy . Those things cannot be detected, scientists have no idea how to do it, and by

Creation and the Laws of Thermodynamics

Image
For some reason, Stormie Waters was not so active in prospecting. I found out why when she stopped over and brought her new boyfriend, Roland Meadows. He seems a decent sort, and while we were jawing, he suddenly asked me laws of thermodynamics. Not exactly your typical mid-afternoon conversation topic, but I tried to oblige him. He knew that scientific things work their way up from hypotheses, then theories, and if they cannot be disproved yet, they become laws. The laws of thermodynamics are very important, and support recent creation. Universe image:  NASA / ESA / M. Montes (Univ. New South Wales); gavel overlay: Clker clipart (usage does not imply endorsement of site contents by anyone) Biblical creationists know that Jesus, God the Son, is the Creator and he also upholds the universe. One way this can be seen is the uniformity of nature , where things will operate tomorrow the same way the are today. Materialists cannot account for this, nor can they account for the laws of logi

Galaxies Rudely Surprise Cosmologists

Image
People have worldviews by which they live their lives. They interpret all kinds of evidence, and obviously, that includes scientists. From that worldview, scientists have speculations, hypotheses, theories, and all that good stuff. They have expectations and models that are expected to support their ideas. The prevailing viewpoint in cosmogony and cosmology is the Big Bang, so if that were true, observations should fit the models, yes? After the great cosmic inflation, stars formed, exploded, caused other stars and planets, then eventually particles-to-planetologist evolution would occur. Starburst Galaxy Messier 82 from Hubble,  NASA  / ESA / The Hubble Heritage Team (STScI/AURA) (usage does not imply endorsement) Stars and galaxies are in the wrong place and time according to secular views. As usual, rescuing devices and excuses were utilized to explain away what are further problems for old universe cosmology. Such discoveries are well in keeping with biblical views of recent creati

Venus and Mars are not Right for Life

Image
Although none of the hypotheses trotted out to explain the origin of the solar system are successful, the flawed  nebular hypothesis  (accretion) is the best of the worst , so that is what secular cosmologists use. It also brings additional problems and raises numerous questions. That big swirl supposedly formed the sun and all the planets. Although Venus, Earth, and Mars have superficial similarities, there are several important differences. Venus has an extremely slow rotation, and runs the opposite of the other planets, for one. Includes images from NASA, especially  STS-116  (usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) It would seem that Mercury, that rock closest to the sun, would be the hottest planet. Venus is far hotter because of trapped heat from greenhouse gasses. Secularists want to know why, but thwart themselves from getting real answers by presupposing a faulty origin of the universe — also, by fanatically believing in and assuming evolution. Hope for finding life

Space Anomalies Trouble Cosmic Concepts

Image
Let me run this up the flagpole in the fort and see if anyone salutes it. Christians believe in an awesome God as described in the Bible. He is infinite, yet is mindful of us (Psalm 8:3-4). Scientists keep on exploring and learning, then developing new technology to continue exploring. Cells that were considered simple are extremely complex. At the other end, astronomy, planetology, cosmology and so forth continually yield new discoveries. If created beings had the Creator all figured out, he would be a puny God. Disk galaxy NGC 7814 credit:  Sloan Digital Sky Survey (usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) Materialist get high and mighty, making pronouncements about the universe, then they realize that science doesn't support atheistic and deep-time views for cosmic evolution. Then they commence to utilizing the complex scientific principle of Making Things Up™ because evidence is recalcitrant toward their speculations. There are also new discoveries in space that cann

Exoplanets: No Goldi-LUCKS Zone

Image
When watching a television program recently, I heard a character use the old remark that since there are so many stars up yonder, there must  be millions of inhabited planets as well. Interest in this obviously increased with the discovery of extrasolar planets. Astrobiologists (astro, but no biology) and other scientists have come up with the habitable zone . It has to be just the right temperature so water can be present on a planet, and they expected to find a passel of thise planets. It did not go well. Assembled from various public domain images, plus a modified NASA / JPL-Caltech image; they do not endorse this site The Goldilocks zone isn't having much luck. It has been modified to include several other factors, such as the temperaments of stars planets are orbiting, space "weather", and more (see " Hopes for Extraterrestrial Life Dimming .") Although Darwinoids spread the false claim that abiogenesis, a.k.a. chemical evolution , has nothing to do with e

Yet Another Failed Faint Young Sun Paradox Rescue

Image
It is clear that secular scientists are committed to the idea that the earth, the solar system, and even the entire universe are billions of years old. Although most scientists for hundreds of years believed that everything was fairly young, geologist James Hutton proposed an old-earth view, which was expanded upon by lawyer Charles Lyell, who wanted to " free the science from Moses ." His agenda was revealed. Charles Darwin was influenced by Lyell's  Principles of Geology while on the voyage of the Beagle , and he incorporated deep time into his speculations on evolution. Pixabay / jodylehigh Many Christians jumped aboard the deep time thing, possibly to look smart and be accepted by atheists. Moving forward and looking upward, cosmologists and cosmogonists got the bit between their teeth and galloped toward expanding deep time ideas to make the entire universe seem ancient. Of course, there have been many difficulties with the idea of an old earth and solar system in m

Rings of Saturn Stress Deep Time Proponents

Image
We have seen numerous times that celestial bodies have been recalcitrant to cosmic evolution and deep time beliefs. Stars, planets, all that good stuff may appear to be billions of years old, but people often get that idea because they accept the opinions of secular scientists. Space is a busy place, what with comets, asteroids, orbital motions, and unseen things such as gravity and radiation. These things affect each other as well as larger objects in the cosmos. No wonder the rings of Saturn cause consternation to naturalists. Artist's conception of Cassini and Saturn,   NASA / JPL  (useage does not imply endorsement of site contents) NASA sent Cassini up there to tool around for about thirteen years, and many interesting things were reported back about Saturn, its moons, radio emissions, rings, and more. Unfortunately for secularists, numerous things were found that refuted deep time and prompted a passel of rescuing devices. Thermal stress (such as on our moon) disrupts the ri

The Origin of Energy Problem

Image
The majority of scientists today presuppose materialism, which means there is no Creator, no miracles, and so forth. Conversely, biblical creationists and some in the Intelligent Design community presuppose what is abhorrent to secularists. The beliefs of materialists cause major scientific problems for them. Before materialistic naturalism became the a priori  driving force in the secular science industry, most scientists believed in creation. Those who reject the Creator cannot rationally explain energy in the universe. Ironically, they invoke unscientific philosophical explanations. Big Bang abstract, Pixabay / Gerd Altmann Two of the most important laws of physics are at play when considering the origin of energy. First, energy can be neither created nor destroyed, which is a summation of the First Law of Thermodynamics. (Amazingly, matter and energy are forms of the same thing.) Second, entropy: A summation of the Second Law of Thermodynamics  is that everything runs down. Materia

Antimatter Fails Another Test

Image
The Standard Model for the Big Bang, which has been modified with rescuing devices since its inception, is saturated with difficulties. Products of the Big Bang are expected and look good in models, but have yet to be found out in the wild. Something that is known to people outside the secular science industry and the hallowed halls of academia is the word antimatter . Supposedly, the Big Bang produced equal amounts of matter and antimatter. All that antimatter is missing and the absence is yet to be explained. Antimatter bursts over thunderstorm, NASA / Goddard Space Flight Center (usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) Antimatter does exist, and when it comes into contact with matter, energy ensues. (That's why we hear about matter-antimatter propulsion units in science fiction.) However, there is not enough of that. Lots of guesswork and rescuing devices, some of which are facepalm-worthy, and even tests at the CERN "antimatter factory". There are amazingl

Hot Jupiter is Really Jumping

Image
For decades, governmental and private organizations have been studying space. Some of it was politically motivated at first, but these days, it is primarily in support of atheistic naturalism. Since there is no room for God in that worldview, they dreamed up their own creation mythologies. The current mythology, a highly-Frankensteined Big Bang, continually needs to be patched, repaired, and propped up. One result of the Big Bang is the formation of planets, weakly explained by the best-of-the-worst ( Best-in-Field Fallacy ) accretion theory. Most exoplanets are hostile witnesses. Artist's conception of a hot Jupiter,  NASA / ESA / G. Bacon (STScI) (usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) Technology has advanced greatly, so the detection of extra-solar planets has become rather commonplace. Even amateur astronomers are doing it. However, from cosmic to biological evolution and everything between, speculations are not supported by evidence. TOI-2109b is, like other hot

Still No Answer to Primordial Lithium Problem

Image
Because secular scientists have materialistic presuppositions, they are compelled to deny special creation using the complex scientific principle of Making Things Up™. The Big Bang is the atheistic myth of cosmic evolution, and then other evolution stories are hitched to that one. The first three elements of the periodic table, hydrogen, helium, and lithium, supposedly fit Big Bang model predictions. The first two are the most common elements in the universe, so that seems like confirmation bias. Lithium is not cooperating at all. Modified from an image by  NASA  / JPL (usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) We need to ride off on a side trail for a moment. A couple of basic science definitions are in order, since people who do not use them frequently get a mite confused. You have a poster of the periodic table of the elements on the wall of your living room, right? Sure, everyone does (mine is out to be resurfaced). It lists atomic numbers, how many protons, neutrons, and

Io Still Shows Signs of Youth

Image
We have seen many instances of where the solar system is not acting its purported age of 4.6 billion years (e.g., " Our Solar System is Young " and " Saturn and Pluto Still Trouble Secularists "), and recent Venusian volcanism does not fit secular beliefs. Io is a moon of Jupiter, the fourth largest in the solar system (Ganymede is the winner), and is slightly bigger than our moon. It has volcanic activity, first observed by Voyager 1  in 1979 and given further examination with further space probes. Volcanic eruption on Io, NASA / JPL / DLR (Usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) When hotspots are mentioned, scientists are probably not referring to the nightlife (although I haven't been there recently). Some moons have volcanoes of various ices and gasses, but this is the real hot stuff. Since Io probably does not have tectonic activity like we do on Earth, much of the volcanism comes from tidal forces due to gravity and orbits. Planetologists trie

Water in the Far Reaches of the Universe

Image
Way, way out yonder, water was detected in a pair of galaxies known as SPT0311-58. The radiation from them was detected through the help of a massive object between them and us, which caused some gravitational lensing. Uncle Albert Einstein discussed how space is warped by gravity in a way similar to a bowling ball resting on a trampoline. Light from out there gets bent and distorted before it gets here, and that lensing effect made it possible to detect SPT0311-58 at the edge of the known universe. South Polar Telescope, National Science Foundation / Dr. Daniel Michalik Water has never before been detected so far away, but that should not be all that surprising because it is not in liquid form (that has only been found on Earth), and water in other forms is rather common out there. It's probably frustrating to secular scientists because this indicates problems for continually-Frankensteined Big Bang cosmogony. It also brings Genesis 1:6-8 to mind, which mentions the waters above t

Saturn and Pluto Still Troubling Secularists

Image
Whenever we have to deal with secular stories of origins, we are confronted with errors in science, ignored facts, poor reasoning, and contradictory conjectures. We have seen numerous times where believers in hydrogen-to-human evolution have been stymied by observations that do not fit their expectations. The rings and moons of Saturn are vexatious to secular cosmologies in several ways, especially when attempting to account for their formation and deny their youth — at least, "young" in comparison to alleged billions of years. Pluto is also uncooperative with secular schemes. Saturn, some moons, rings image credit: NASA (Usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) When questioning the age of the moons of Saturn, the age of its rings are also a part of the problem. There are no explanations that make sense, and many are self-refuting. Ring formation by collision is what can be called the " best-in-field fallacy ": best of the worst. Speculations about age and

Circular Reasoning Silliness in Cosmic Evolution

Image
Whether it is cosmic or biological, atoms-to-astronomer evolutionary concepts are being herded by unscientific philosophical biases and presuppositions into the corral of atheistic naturalism. Using some critical thinking skills, people can reduce the deception. We have two articles to consider regarding cosmic evolution. These provide clear illustrations from astronomy of several basic approaches used in biology as well. As discussed in other posts, everyone has presuppositions of unproved beliefs that are assumed to be facts. For the most part, people are unaware that they are using them. Supposed newly forming exoplanet PDS 70b, credits: NASA , ESA, STScI, Joseph Olmsted (STScI) (Usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) A rather impressive term is unargued philosophical bias.  Secularists assume that evolution happens slowly — except when it doesn't. Astronomers claim to be able to see a moon forming from dust around exoplanet PDS 70b (hey, that's my license plate

Martian Volcano Flusters Secular Scientists

Image
Geologists who believe that the earth is billions of years old are constantly being surprised when observed data does not fit their deep-time presuppositions. This becomes even more pronounced by various celestial objects in our own solar system ( such as Pluto and Charon ). It should be eminently logical, Captain, that if an idea does not have supporting evidence, it should be abandoned , but the deep-time and evolutionary narratives take precedence. So, how about that volcanic eruption on Mars? Cerberus Fossae image credit: NASA / JPL-Caltech / University of Arizona (Usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) As we seen down here on Earth, secular scientists often use fundamentally flawed dating methods. It does not go well, and they should know better. As with other moons and planets in our solar system, geological activity is occurring. This should not be happening if our solar system was billions of years old. Rescuing devices, storytelling, and guesswork for cosmic evolu

More on Getting the Universe from Nothing

Image
Здравствуйте on Cosmonautics Day ! Can you believe that is has only been sixty years since Yuri Gagarin was the first human in space? I was just a small buckaroo then. Anyway, this seems like a good day to consider further follies by naturalists to get everything from nothing. Image derived from a NASA illustration (Usage of original does not imply endorsement of site contents) Some misotheists will lie, saying that nobody believes that everything came from nothing, and when lassoed with the truth, they conveniently redefine nothing as...something else. I've been ridiculed for this, and the laughing emoji was hypocritically used on my proof by someone who owns the Krauss book, A Universe from Nothing . It's who they are and what they do. As we have seen many times, the narrative is more important to many than actually attempting science and learning the truth. There's never a sheriff around when you need one because these owlhoots are breaking the law. Specifically, the
