Doubts on the Authorship of 2 Peter

Image
Admittedly, this post is a departure from the usual fare of this weblog. It is because Christians need to know about not only evidence that supports the authenticity of the Bible (such as historical records and archaeology), but dealing with attacks on it as well. Taking a critical view of many things is helpful, but when this approach is coupled with a scoffing attitude, almost nothing can penetrate such a mindset. A person like this presumes the worst about possible evidence against the Bible. Apostle Peter statue, Pixabay / Dog Warrior , edited at removebg , then cropped The Second Epistle of Peter was met with suspicion because it did not read like his previous epistle. Liberal scholars who tend to disbelieve the authority and authenticity of the Bible brought several assumptions to the table. Peter was lacking the intelligence that is exhibited in the second epistle, they claimed. There are several explanations to remove both of these doubts. People have different writing styles f

Darwinists, Leave those Hospitals Alone!

Image
There is a personal and coincidental reason for my interest in the article featured below. Today is 8 March, and I am recovering from knee surgery. The article came out on the first, and my surgical testing was on the second. When someone has a reputation for repeatedly fouling things up, do you want to entrust that person with something extremely important? Of course not. The same can be said for an ideology. It has been shown repeatedly that evolutionary thinking has been harmful to medical science, yet Darwin's acolytes want it entrenched. Original operating room photo at Pexels / Anna Shvets , then modified* Apparently, secularists are repeatedly given a pass: Racism in medical research Vestigial organs/structures such as the appendix are not vestigial Declaring not-understood DNA to be "junk,"  which has been refuted The false claim that antibiotic resistance proves evolution Fake science to support evolution in COVID-19 research We have also seen that secularists o

Anoles and Fake Evolution News

Image
Darwinists do not really know how evolution works, and some of them admit it. This is a kinder explanation for why they make claims observing evolution when it is not there. It is also more realistic than saying an evolution consortium is being deceptive, although there are Darwin's Flying Monkeys™ who go on the attack with lies and manipulation. In this case, anole lizards (some are wrongly called chameleons) are  in the news again , and there are wrong claims of seeing evolution happening. Puerto Rican crested anole, iNaturalist /  Annika Lindqvist  ( CC BY 4.0 ) A video that was almost embedded at the end of this post was going along nicely. Then they just had to sneak in evolutionary propaganda at the halfway point. Dismissed. Now back to our subject at hand. "Oh,  goodie ! The Puerto Rican crested anole has some new traits!  Hail Darwin, blessed be !" Does that make you feel better, sister? First of all, creationists have been pointing out for many years that variat

Scientists Admit to Rapid Burial of Scelidosaurus

Image
Scelidosaurus was a weird thing, plain and simple. It went on all fours but the front legs were shorter than those in the back. Mayhaps its contemporaries would see it when it was standing still and think it was crouched and ready to spring, but no, it was just built that way. It is known for being mostly complete and several have been found in the British Isles — except for that one that is found way over in Arizona. The first one was found in 1858. Scelidosaurus harrisonii, Wikimedia Commons / 5of7 ( CC BY-SA 2.0 ) That premier specimen was sent to Richard Owen (who gave the world the word dinosaur .) He figured it was a land creature, but was washed out to sea and quickly buried. Paleontologists are coming around to that way of thinking, especially because of such excellent fossil preservation They will not accept the Genesis Flood as the most rational explanation. If someone has a plan that consistently fails, does it make sense to continue using it? Not hardly! Secular scientist

Artificial Intelligence and Replacing Humanity

Image
The word Luddite  has been misappropriated to simply mean people who fear change brought about by computers, robots, and the like. It was a movement early in the Industrial Revolution because people were afraid of losing their jobs to machines. Today, there are many speculations about Artificial Intelligence and what will happen. Will robots and AI take over and either destroy or enslave humanity? Not hardly! There has been a spate of material on this subject recently, and I have assembled some of it for your education. Human, robot, and artificial intelligence, Pixabay /  Gerd Altmann A very old joke involves people in an airplane hearing an announcement informing the passengers that the flight was completely automated. The computer recited how wonderful it was, then the announcement ended with the reassurance, "Nothing can go wrong <click> go wrong <click> go wrong <click>..." The joke shows that people are suspicious of computers, robots, and AI. Fears an

Octopus Evolution Stories Raise Questions

Image
It is interesting to watch how believers in universal common descent promote their speculations (often with the secular science industry's media sensationalizing). Then creationists and the Intelligent Design camp show the flaws in the science and logic of secularists. Hopefully, regular readers have learned how to spot fake science news. This can be done without owning science degrees. Evolutionists make their pronouncements and attempt to bamboozle us, but we can see when they are talking non-science and are full of hooey. Consider the evolution of a certain type of octopus. Octopus image from Hippopx One aspect of presuppositional apologetics is that biblical creationists presuppose that the Bible is true, and we examine other worldviews to see if they are internally consistent. Misotheists frequently misrepresent and ridicule this apologetic, and they deny something very obvious: They are hardcore presuppositionalists themselves, presupposing evolution and naturalism. With this

Wolves and the Yellowstone Ecosystem

Image
We hear about animals being territorial, guarding against intruders and generally keeping to their own areas. Wolves are like this instead of spreading out and being concentrated in single areas. In fact, most seem to respect the borders that they and their neighbors have marked.  In Yellowstone National Park, the last wolf pack was killed in the 1920s, and over the years, the elk population got a mite uppity. Several cascading effects happened. Elks over-grazed which led to erosion. Officials decided to bring in wolves. Yellowstone wolves and elk, National Park Service / Doug Smith The elk were made to get back in line. Beavers were glad to have the trees they needed, and their dams helped the ecosystems. Bringing in big-time predators (what music they make!) actually helped. Our Creator planned for living things after the fall, keeping things in balance. The effect of wolves was a howling success.  Wolves are apex predators. This means that they are top of their food chain, and norma

Microraptor — Another Extinct Bird

Image
When I was in town with Hammond Suisse and Roland Meadows, we encountered Rusty Swingset and Cliff Swallows. It was a mite surprising to the three of us to see both leaders of the Darwin Ranch at the same time. They were all a-twitter about a Microraptor. It is uncommon for a fossilized critter to have identifiable stomach contents, and this time it was a mammal foot. There is not much to go on to determine its eating habits, however, and there was a variety of foods. Microraptor, Flickr / Marcia O'Connor ( CC BY-NC 2.0 ), modified at photofunny , plus speech bubble Although it came from China, it is not a  fraud like  Archaeoraptor .  Microraptor  is a genus, but there are disputes among paleontologists. Some do not buy into the dino-bird thing. Also, evolutionists cannot account for the origin of feathers, let alone, flight feathers... Many factors to consider when they tell their tales. Something else to keep in mind is Archaeopteryx , which was a true bird despite futile atte

Evolutionists and their Love of Abortion

Image
A few years ago, I noticed that atheists tend to be political leftists and approve of many behaviors that are against the commands of God. Particles-to-politician evolution is a tenet of atheism, so they fight red in tooth and claw to defend and promote it. To be blunt, evolutionism is a death cult, because advancement up the tree of life happens because of death. Things die and new ones evolve. You savvy that? Like people in various religious cults, people involved seldom consider in depth what their organizations believe. Bassinet, Freestocks / Joanna Malinowska While society is deteriorating, the murder of unborn children is gaining ground. It has been said that abortion is a sacrament to Democrats and other leftists. Many people know full well that they are ending lives (they admit it), and they do not care. Some are proud of the number of abortions they've had! That's depravity. Those people need to humble themselves and repent to Jesus Christ. Two things I've said bef

Knee Joints and Alleged Evolution

Image
Some of the most common physical ailments in people are found in the knees, and this child has had some. The patella (kneecap) on the left knee was fractured after slipping on ice. Kneeling has long been painful. This time, the right knee. I may be undergoing surgery as you are reading. Something something torn meniscus something. Partly from age and mild arthritis. Unofficially, a great deal of strain on it in the workplace contributed. Some Darwinists claim that knee joints show poor design, therefore, there is no Creator. Human knee, Wikimedia Commons / BruceBlaus ( CC BY 3.0 ), modified at home and then  PhotoFunia We tend to take for granted, what our knees do for us. They bear the load (sometimes far more than they were designed for, put that box of donuts down), bend, stop suddenly, and more. F'rinstance, you are walking along at a brisk pace and suddenly remember that you forgot something. Plant  your foot, pivot , push , twist , complete the turn. You may even run back t
