The Influence of Plato on Christianity

Image
While approaches to logical reasoning and some other areas in philosophy are useful, people can be so wrapped up in it that they become deceived. Some believe that Christianity is simply the development of ideas from Aristotle, and especially Plato. It has even been suggested that the Trinity came from their philosophies. This indicates ignorance of the Bible, including the Old Testament . However, a kind of trickle-down effect can be seen by philosophers on church fathers — and on Western culture today. Worldviews in our society, especially in Christianity, are markedly different from those philosophers. Plato, WikiComm / Leonidas Drosis ( photo by C messier ), ( CC BY-SA 4.0 ), cross added from Clker clipart Consider if you will that Socratic Questioning is used today — and a form of it can be seen in Paul the Apostle, and when Jesus answered his critics. However, the Christian view of truth is very different from those of Socrates, Plato, and the gang . It may be surprising that som...

Original Hemoglobin in Dinosaur Bones

Image
Darwin's acolytes are unable to accept the hand they have been dealt, so they deal from the bottom of the deck, mark cards, and essentially cheat up a storm. Soft tissues in dinosaur bones have given them apoplexy, so they try to make excuses and defy logic. Some even deny the facts, such as the existence of soft tissues. (One village evolutionist made a comment on a post about C-14 in dinosaur bones , "It's rare, which suggests contamination." In other words, "Nuh UH! I make up my own truth!") Hemoglobin is also a huge problem. Haemoblobin, Wikimedia Commons / Zephyris ( CC BY-SA 3.0 ) Secularists try to evosplain with scenarios that do not fit real-world data. Also, have you ever noticed that the age of the earth has dramatically increased over the years? Papa Darwin needs deep time his wonders to perform, and conventional scientists do their best to give them to him. However, deep time works against soft tissues, C-14, hemoglobin, and other things found ...

Benjamin Franklin and the Designer

Image
Since Benjamin Franklin was a diplomat, practitioner of science, influencer of culture, and considered very wise, it is not surprising that he is still known worldwide over 300 years after his birth. Secularists who try to rewrite American history say Ben and others were Deists. The Deist claim is mostly false , but Franklin? His views are hard to pin down, and they changed over the years. Deists typically view God as someone who wound up the universe and stepped away. That kind of thinking does not describe Ben Franklin's views. Benjamin Franklin Drawing Electricity from the Sky / Benjamin West (1816), PD Deists and theistic evolutionists I have encountered online (I believe TEs are essentially deists), typically show disdain for the authority and reliability of the Bible. Franklin took the time to examine creation and arrived at the firm conclusion that there is a Creator. Indeed, he is an example of what Paul wrote about in Romans 1:20. Also, some people have hated God because ...

Biogeography Still Bothers Evolutionists

Image
In a recent discussion on Folly Road with Sherwood Tellit of the Darwin Ranch, I was informed that the evolutionary story (or "fact," as he called it) explains biogeography quite nicely. It is the study of how plants and animals migrated over the years: "How did that get there ?" Superficially, evolution may seem plausible for the migrations of organisms. When one engages the think bones and actually considers what is observed — and asks questions — then the whole thing starts to unravel. Globe from top, Pexels / NastyaSensei A problem for Darwinists is that they often insist that things like biogeography, speciation, natural selection and other things are proof of evolution. Not hardly! Biblical creationists also believe those things. Scoff all they want, but questions raised about evolutionary biogeography are have better answers in creation science Genesis Flood models! In March 2010, internationally renowned atheist Richard Dawkins addressed the Global Atheist ...

South Dakota Badlands Good for Creation Science

Image
The word badlands  is often used to mean that an area is not good for living in, growing crops, and so forth. South Dakota has badlands. The Badlands National Park  takes up the area of three counties. Also in the badlands area is a National Historic Site involving deactivated nuclear missile silos . Nuclear missiles make good days go bad.  So why make a national park? A passel of wildlife call the area home. It also has geologic formations, and the study and removal of fossils needed to be regulated. Badlands National Park, Unsplash / Wesley Sharp Geologists and paleontologists who presuppose millions of years interpret what they observe into an interesting story. It does not hold up. Biblical creationists also has presuppositions, the main ones being that the Bible is true about recent creation and the devastating global Flood. Using Flood geology and models, the formations are explained in a way that makes sense. The eroded cliffs of the Badlands terrain of west centra...

Insect Celestial Navigation by Design

Image
The other day, I went to visit Hammond Suisse at his spread and helped with some odds and ends. Day became night. We were taking a break, looking up at the stars. That always stirs me on the inside. Canada geese were honking and flying in formation, darker areas against the night. "Do they use the stars to know where they're going?" he asked. I replied, "Sure do. The Creator gave us the sun, moon, and stars for lots of things including navigation," I replied. "We're not the only ones to take advantage of them." Male bogong moth ( Agrotis infusa ), Wikimedia Commons / Birgit E. Rhode ( CC BY 4.0 ) Down 'Straya way, researchers performed some interesting science on bogong moths. Some of these critters migrate 1,000 km (621 miles) at night. Testing revealed that they navigate by the stars. Since the world turns, so they had to adjust for that as well. It is not a learned or taught behavior, as they do not live long enough to pass along the inform...

Islam and Science Claims

Image
When pointing out that science needs the proper environment to thrive, atheists may reply that the true founders of modern science were not the Christians and creationists in history, but Islamists. It is true that some science was developed in Persia and other places in the East, but there is more to the story. It is interesting that when Muslims conquered lands, they brought laws and structure. That would provide some basis for science (and culture) to grow. Indeed, the glimmers of science that were found in those areas were actually from other lands and from non-Muslims. Iran image prayer rug, Pixabay / Rudolf Langer Islam is not exactly tolerant of ideas that came from "infidels" or from outside the Koran. (Ironically, there are many scientific errors in Islam, including that a man's seed forms in his chest.) However, Christianity provides the right environment for science to build and thrive — despite the efforts of atheists and evolutionists to pretend otherwise. S...

Question Evolution Day and Marketing Darwin

Image
Probably everyone that watches television has seen advertisements for food, but the product purchased is disappointingly different. Marketing people have techniques to make stuff look good, and they put a great deal of time and effort into creating an image that is far different from reality. Charles Darwin had a mediocre theology degree but nothing in science. He did not make a great discovery about evolution and then tell the world. Instead, he presupposed evolutionary ideas (which dated back to ancient Hindus and Greek philosophers). Then he popularized them for his era. Marketing Darwinism, made at NightCafe AI Like the food people, Charlie knew his audience and what would be accepted. He also made friends of influential people. One was Thomas Henry Huxley, who promoted Darwinism. T.H.'s grandson Julian also championed his ideas (see " Darwin Succeeded through Huxley Conspiracies "). Further, Darwin labeled his material as science and not what it really was. There ha...

The Ark, the Animals, and the Water

Image
As people who have read or viewed creation science material know, the Genesis Flood is extremely important. One reason is that the Flood ruins uniformitarian (old Earth) geology. Scoffers dismiss it out of hand without learning even the basics of what is involved. Creationists have pointed out that there are questions raised in bad faith to trip up biblical creationists, but there are also people who sincerely want explanations. Today we examine two. The first is how Noah rounded up all those critters. The Animals Entering Noah's Ark , Jacopo Bassano ca. 1570 Noah saddled up a Compsognathus, put a cart behind it, made a lariat, and lassoed — "Don't be facetious, Cowboy Bob!" Actually, scoffers paint a similarly absurd picture through their prejudicial conjectures. When intelligently  debating opponents, it is necessary to learn their views and look for inconsistencies and logic flaws. Genesis 6:20, 7:8-9 tells us that the animals came to Noah at the Ark; they were gui...

Oxygen Level, Altitude, and the Ark

Image
Stevia Dolce, lead baker at the Darwin Ranch near Deception Pass, is not a fan of evolution. But she needs her job and keeps mum about her doubts around the ranch hands. Yesterday, when all my troubles seemed so far away, she visited me with a question. And a cheese Danish. "Sherwood Tellit was saying that if Noah's Ark was real, it would have gone up too high and everyone would have suffocated — why are you laughing? Don't choke on the Danish!" I swallowed, took a swig of coffee, and told her why. AI-generated Noah's Ark image, Pixabay /  dlsdkcgl This is one of the "Gotcha!" arguments made by atheists and other believers in deep time. For them, it is a scientific absurdity that the Ark was raised above the highest mountain peaks. There are mountains existing today where the summits are in the "death zone" because oxygen needs to be brought along. Flood deniers tend to ignore some basic science to make their accusations. They also ignore the t...

Astrobiology Defying Science and Logic

Image
Materialists have their invisible friends, which are space aliens. They even created a fake science to study them and called it astrobiology . Except that there is no astro to biologize. That is (this may come as a shock), there are no space aliens. The whole philosophy is based on chasing shadows. This stuff is based on abiogenesis, where life supposedly came from non-life. (Many claim that abiogenesis has nothing to do with evolution, which is false; it is also called chemical evolution .) Abiogenesis is to be a given, then evolution stories commence from there. Mars,  NASA  / JPL-Caltech (usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) Secular scientists reject the Creator, but know that the origin of life cannot be explained on Earth, so they outsource the problem to space aliens. Life evolved, and it must have originated out yonder. Some of the stories they tell deserve Ig Nobel Prizes  because they defy logic and should be laughed away instead of published in ser...

Extinction Events vs the Genesis Flood

Image
Every once in a while, a documentary about deep time or someone in the secular science industry talks about an extinction event . According to many mainstream scientists, catastrophic events led to the extinctions of major life forms. Extinction events are important to their paradigm. One of those is the story of the huge rock that fell out of the sky that was the Chicxulub impact. It was instrumental in dinosaur extinction and is taken as a tenet of evolution — but saturated with problems . There were supposedly five extinction events in the distant past. Credit:  NASA  (usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) Now we're supposedly in the sixth  extinction event. Surprise! It's being caused by humans, because humans are bad and there are too many of us. (A few of these secular sidewinders are calling for the extermination of multitudes of people .) The first five of these supposed extinction events are rescuing devices for gaps in geologic information — which a...

A Brief View of the Big Bang Myth

Image
The prevalent myth of the secular science industry for the origin of the universe is commonly called the Big Bang, which is buggy. Even so, believers in dust-to-dictator evolution support it. This is most likely because the work of the Creator is contrary to their paradigms. Angry atheists on teh interwebs are ignorant of (or unwilling to admit) that there are scientists, both conventional and creationists, who reject the Big Bang. Indeed, it has been frequently Frankensteined by adding inflation and other faith-based concepts to keep it looking respectable. Image credit:  NASA , ESA, M. J. Jee and H. Ford et al. (Johns Hopkins Univ)  (Usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) There are proofs offered by its advocates, but they are not very compelling; the Big Bang is not the only way to interpret what has been observed. Regular readers have seen several instances that the James Webb Space Telescope has provided evidence contrary to the expectations of cosmic evoluti...

An In-Depth Look at the Human-Chimp DNA Similarity Deception

Image
My unregistered assault keyboards are ready to face the challenges of 2026, so brace yourselves. On this calendar change day, we have an interesting analysis of how secularists insist that the similarity between human and chimpanzee DNA is around ninety-eight percent. (They still do this even though that number has been disproved by both creationist and secular scientists .) It is needed by the human evolution story for when humans and chimps supposedly diverged — a larger percentage difference makes the timeframe useless for them. Human-Chimpanzee DNA, made at  Night Cafe , then  removebg Although many do not like to admit it, the idea of ninety-eight to ninety-nine percent similarity is based on bad sequencing in the early days, and contaminated samples . Even so, the myth marched on because it suited their story. That's not science, old son. The author of the article linked below takes an interesting approach by comparing the best-understood organism, E. coli . Yes, a singl...

Evolutionist Misrepresents History on Intelligent Design Trials

Image
Once again, it is worth asking that if evolution is a scientific fact with a mountain of evidence, why does it need to be protected from challenges and scrutiny? In 2004, the Kitzmiller v Dover  lawsuit was filed because the school district wanted teachers to say that there were problems with evolution. It also referred to the  Of Pandas and People textbook that proposed Intelligent Design as an alternative. Katie, bar the door! Someone has the gall , the unmitigated audacity, to doubt Darwin and have students  actually think ! Evolution must be protected! It has been twenty years since the ruling which is praised by atheists and other evolutionists. They continue to promote myths , probably because reasoning is difficult for them. One tinhorn from Michigan State University wrote an article that told several blatant falsehoods and misrepresented history. He was an expert witness at that trial. One of the most common lies from anti-creationists and anti-ID folks is that I...

Misattributing Evidence for Design

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen  Many people say that evidence for the Designer is clearly obvious in many ways, even showing his engineering and planning skills, love of beauty, and more. Even the single-celled  Stentor coeruleus  shows intricacy found in multicellular organisms. The wealthy and intelligent Elon Musk was asked about the Creator , and he said, "I believe this universe came from something. People have different labels." I do not think he simply meant that the word God  is not the same in all languages. Chromosomes, National Human Genome Research Institute (public domain) There are people who admit that the universe and life itself were designed, but they distance themselves from the Designer. Believers in microbes-to-microscopist evolution study things like chromosomes and then gleefully give the credit to evolution. While evolution is pantheistic in nature (is is an ancient religious and philosophical belief, after all), it is not a person and cannot make de...

The Red Sea and the Israelite Crossing

Image
Something that has been discussed, and probably cussed, for centuries is where the Israelites crossed the Red Sea. The subject in question raises questions about many other subjects. After all, the Exodus from Egypt was over 3,000 years ago. Unfortunately, places no longer exist, sands have shifted, locations are uncertain, and more. Historical records are extremely important, but Egyptian chronologies are misleading. Despite the rantings of atheopaths, the Bible is not "fairy tales," and it contains detailed historical information.  Dust blowing over the Red Sea, NASA GSFC, Jesse Allen To complicate matters, some folks try to take this clearly miraculous event and try to make it into a naturalistic coincidence. Yes, the wind blew. The Bible said so. But that does not take away the power and presence of God. (The idea of the wind blowing so hard that all those Israelites crossed over, then the waters drowned Pharaoh's army in a shallow area is ridiculous.) There are sev...

Dawn of War Between Evolutionary Biologists

Image
It may come as a shock to some folks, but scientists are not in lockstep. This is clearly evident among atoms-to-atheist evolutionists. Consider the popular myth that dinosaurs were devastated by the impact of a big rock from space, but there are numerous other speculations as to what made them go extinct. Apparently some of the diverse views among evolutionists have been caused by the secular science industry promoting leftist causes. Medical exceptions aside, there are only two sexes; the Creator said so (Genesis 1:27). Evolutionary biologists are getting obstreperous over the truth. Battle of Vercellae , Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, 1729 One side claims that sex is not so simple, as both males and females have traits shown in each other. (Big deal. Some men are not interested in stereotypical masculine things, and there are women who do not fit the mold of femininity, yet most do not doubt their sexes.) The other side of the issue is attacked by cancel culture because they stand for w...

Flightless Birds and Evolutionary Storytelling

Image
Proponents of evolution believe that they have evidence, yes? Many also claim that their evidence that destroys creation science, yes? There are many instances where evolutionists claim to prove or give evidence for their speculations but fail. The idea that flightless birds such as the chicken-sized kiwi, the huge ostrich, and several others devolved from a common flying ancestor was put forward. People read the ostentatious claims and believe them — but fail to use critical thinking, which shows how evidence works against the narrative. North Island Brown Kiwi, Wikimedia Commons / The.Rohit ( CC BY 2.0 ) The story is that these birds devolved from one flighted ancestor, but if the secular science industry was thinking matters through, they would see that they would have a better story if it was the opposite! At any rate, there is no fossil evidence to support their claims. The preposterous idea that a loss of traits is evidence for evolution was used, but that remains absurd to thin...

Death Valley and Water in Space

Image
Just the other day, Lisa Myworries had a day off from supervising the Winkie Guards at the Darwin Ranch and saddled up for some riding. She said she had no plan, just let the pony have its head and then slow down. Eventually, she ended up at my place and wanted to talk for a spell. Our chin music turned to Death Valley, of all things. Because of mountains, winds, and other conditions, it is a very hot desert with almost no water. As it is with other extremes (like the polar regions), life still exists there. Death Valley, Unsplash / Nick Rickert It is generally accepted that the key to life is water — liquid  water. Excited news reports pop up every now and then that some form of ice may exist on some planets or their moons, therefore life may have evolved there. No. It's form isn't much help. There is ice in craters on the moon, but actually obtaining it would be almost insurmountable. Water on Mars would not last for long. The more we study on it, the more it is obvious that...
