Biblical creationists have put a great deal of effort into researching Noah's Ark, and I reckon that the folks at Answers in Genesis have put extra work into it. After all, they built a life-sized replica based on what they understood from the Bible. Scoffers reject the Ark and the Genesis Flood out of hand. However, people who want to know if AiG (really, creationists in general) are being consistent with their stated worldview. Although secularists often resent the distinction, there are two kinds of science . Operational  science deals with the here and now: analyzing, building, treating illnesses, etc. When science is used to attempt to explain what happened in the past, it is historical  science — for obvious reasons. When scientists propose ideas for what happened in the past, there should be evidence for their claims. Biblical creationists believe that the Genesis Flood was a global catastrophe.
