The Three Sisters and Refuting Atheist Refutations

Image
It is interesting to see articles and videos about various geological features, many of which are found in the formerly United States. Down 'Straya way, there are also some impressive formations. Consider the Three Sisters in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales. This popular tourist attraction presents strong evidence for the Genesis Flood , and Dr. Tasman Walker of Creation Ministries International wrote an article about it. This raised the ire of some Australian skeptics, and one wrote an article to refute him. It did not go well, Three Sisters, Wikimedia Commons / Diliff ( CC BY-SA 2.5 ) For some time, I have held the opinion that a skeptic is someone who is not convinced of something, but is willing to change his mind when persuasive evidence is presented. It seems that a skeptic today is someone who refuses to be convinced of something despite the evidence. Someone pointed out that these unyielding skeptics would more correctly be called cynics . These skeptics (atheists) d...

Dwarf Planet Rings Challenge Secular Cosmologists

Image
For a mighty long time, the rings of Saturn got the attention and made other planets envious. Did you know there are rings around Uranus? Jupiter? Neptune? It takes special telescopes to see them, though. Then there are other celestial objects with rings. Way out yonder orbiting between Jupiter are icy planetesimals known as centaurs . Some of these have rings as well. Denizens of the secular science industry think they know how rings form. Like other materials, Quaoar does not perform its cosmic dance according to secular expectations. Artist impression of Quaoar and its ring, WikiComm / ESA ( CC BY-SA IGO 3.0 ), modified at PhotoFunia Quaoar resides in the Kuiper Belt, a junkyard of rock and ice planetesimals beyond the orbit of Neptune. It was discovered in 2002 and its moon Weywot in 2007. The names come from deities of the Tongva people. Interesting that something smaller than Pluto could have a moon. It is also interesting that it has rings, the discoveries of which were announ...

DNA, Numbers, and Creation

Image
It seems that our Creator likes numbers, since he made so many of them. He gave us various forms of mathematics that are used extensively in astronomy (and elsewhere). Consider that all of those stars have names (Isaiah 40:26, Psalm 147:4). It is estimated that there are 200 sextillion stars. Scientists use those mind-boggling numbers on a regular basis, including astronomers, geologists, and even biologists. Someone suggested that people should stop saying million  for emphasis because the average person really cannot grasp such a number. DNA, Pixabay /  Gerd Altmann (geralt) Going the other way, people can understand seconds and minutes. When the numbers build up, they can be surprising. How many seconds back from July 25, 2025 did George Washington live? Over 9,259,000,000. A few decades ago, computer memory devices of significant volume were huge. Nowadays, portable memory of multiple terabytes can be tucked into a shirt pocket. DNA stores huge amounts of information ...

Raccoons and Creation

Image
The other morning, I was not in the best of moods. Cleaning up around the shed was needed because a raccoon got in and scattered garbage. While I was mumbling to myself and working, Rusty Swingset, foreman of the Darwin Ranch near Deception Pass, and his lady friend Jacqueline Hyde (who was almost herself that day) had ridden up. He said they decided to see how these new horses were and since they had some down time, swung by my place. I gestured and said, "Trash panda's been here." Rusty roared and Jacqueline giggled. Raccoon, Unsplash / fr0ggy5 "I don't think either of us have heard that term before," said Jacqueline. "But they sure are mischievous." She pronounced it miss-CHEE-vee-us instead of MISS-chev-us, but I successfully hid my cringe. Rusty scratched his scraggly jaw and chimed in, "Say, don't you believe they're designed to do this stuff? Those paws look like five-fingered li'l hands." "Well, ya got me there,...

Solving the Polystrate Fossil Problem

Image
While the devastating difficulty of dinosaur soft tissues cannot be ignored or hidden, uniformitarian geologists have a lesser-known problem: polystrate fossils . Acolytes of the secular science industry like to point out that the phrase comes from creationists. Poison the well much, Marcia? Polystrate fossils are trees that have been fossilized in rock layers that are supposedly millions of years old. Secular geologists also claim that the trees grew in place. However, they do not show signs of partial decay while fossilizing during the requisite years. Also, these fossils are found in coal seams. Polystrate tree fossil in Joggins formation, Wikimedia Commons / Michael C. Rygel ( CC BY-SA 3.0 ) Some secularists have the audacity — the unmitigated gall — to claim that these things support their views, even saying that the trees have roots. No, Norman, a few pieces that look like the tree was ripped out from the ground before being buried does not qualify as root systems. Polystra...

Artifacts Depicting Dinosaurs? Slow Down!

Image
On this site alone, many instances of Darwin's disciples galloping off with new discoveries that allegedly demonstrate evolution are displayed. Evolutionists ignore possible alternative explanationsfor data, important facts are neglected, bad logic is used, and more. Unfortunately, some Christians use the same poor thinking. Some of it is based on dramatic claims, such as drilling into Hell itself . The gospel is true, we do not need to "wow" people into believing it — especially when we  are being gullible and not checking the material. There are several artifacts said to depict dinosaurs that are false. Dinosaur on a road, Pixabay / Guo WuYou , modified at PhotoFunia Obviously, biblical creationists want to spread the truth. One part of it is evidence that humans and dinosaurs were contemporaneous for a while, and such evidence is found in historical accounts and numerous artifacts . It becomes a problem when we are in a hurry to show something impressive that turns out...

Limitations of the Omnipotent God

Image
It may come as a shock, but yes, there are some things that God cannot do. He created the universe and raised Jesus, God the Son, from the dead. But he still has certain limitations. One is that he cannot go against his nature. Professing atheists like "gotcha" questions like, "If God is all-powerful, can he make a rock so big he cannot lift it?" These tinhorns think they are being clever, but they are showing some serious intellectual flaws. God is perfect in logic, and such challenges are illogical. Mountains, rocks, flowers, and sun, Unsplash / Damian Markutt The challenge is based on contradictory premises, so it is nothing. God cannot make  nothing. He is all-powerful (omnipotent) and has no limitations outside himself.  Such disingenuous questioners are trying to use his omnipotence against him — without understanding what that word means. Roslyn B from Tasmania, Australia asked: My son (grade 8) asked me a question which he was asked by a peer (who says he’s...

No Life Arrived from Outer Space

Image
Chemical evolution, abiogenesis, life from non-life — whatever it is called, it cannot happen . Although some denizens of the secular science industry try to keep the faith, most admit that life cannot occur all by its lonesome. They gave the problem to their invisible imaginary friends, the space aliens. Except there is no evidence that they exist, let alone, evolved. Atheists and other evolutionists believe that abiogenesis had to happen somewhere. Mayhaps aliens evolved and put life on Earth. No evidence, though. A look at regular panspermia is in order. Meteor, Pixabay / OpenClipart-Vectors (modified at PhotoFunia ) Evolutionists want us to spot them some "gimmes," such as evolution actually happening and that abiogenesis (that I keep banging the drum about) happened. For the sake of discussion, let's give them a simple life form that somehow got into a meteor or other rock in space. It would have to find the only planet capable of supporting life (ours) and survive...

Dolophones — Spiders in Hiding

Image
There are many advantages to reading creation science material, one of which is learning about creatures living all around the world. Australia and its neighbours have some startlers, many of which are exceptionally dangerous. Fortunately, Dolophone  wrap-around spiders are exceptions. They get their handle by the way they hide. Not only do they become almost indistinguishable from branches and such, they wrap around them. They are on the small side, and spend their lives up yonder in the trees — making them even harder to find. Dolophone orb weaver, Flickr / P.D. Amara (public domain) The ability to hide is very interesting itself, but something else to consider from these orb weavers is web silk. This is something that has fascinated scientists for ages. Biblical creationists discuss the amazing construction involved in building webs . There is a great deal of specified complexity involved, all the way down to the DNA, that believers in descent with modifications cannot explain...

Stomping the Human-Chimp DNA Similarity Myth

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen  Edited 14 July 2025 Scientific research is unfriendly to atoms-to-ape evolution, and the icon of ninety-eight percent similarity of human and chimpanzee similarity has been long been disputed. Indeed, it is based on bad science that is omitted from the secular science industry propaganda [ 1 ]. Research in chimpanzee genome supports biblical creation science [ 2 , 3 ] instead of evolution. Darwin's disciples get mighty irritated when people say that we evolved from apes or monkeys. We supposedly split from a common ancestor that looks like a monkey [ 4 ] — but they are assuming its appearance. Human-Chimpanzee DNA, made at Night Cafe , then removebg The number for human-chimpanzee similarity varies by a few percentage points, but usually about ninety-eight percent. Darwin's disciples need such a close match because apes and humans allegedly diverged around seven million years ago. That means evolutionists cannot account for a larger percentage difference...

Unbelievably Tiny Motors are Complex

Image
Make a first, then extend your little (pinky) finger. Place it up to the corner of your mouth and say, "400 trillion " like Dr. Evil. That is about how many viruses live within you. No need to get flustered because only a few are owlhoots . They are a part of our microbiome . Strange thing is, viruses are not considered living things! They can mimic life by bushwhacking living cells, infecting them, and reproducing. There are many types of viruses and they do not all work in the same way. Our sub-life friends are viruses called bacteriophages . Working on a motor, Unsplash / Han Dora Viruses are much smaller than bacteria and are selective in their targets. Bacteriophages (phages for short) hunt the bad bacteria and leave the good ones alone. To do their work, they have to work on the DNA molecules in the bacteria. Not only did the Master Engineer give living things built-in viruses to ambush bad bacteria, he also gave viruses a special molecular machine to conduct such detai...

Cephalopod Camouflage and the US Navy

Image
Cuttlefish, squids, and octopuses are grouped as cephalopods , and are fascinating in and of themselves. We looked at the brain and neurons recently; the neurons of cephalopods are mostly in their arms, not their brains. Other things about them to amaze is that they are intelligent (even conniving), use their tentacles to grasp things, and have a camouflage ability that is truly startling. They blend in very quickly — yet they are colorblind. This is because the brain is not involved in the color-changing process. Cuttlefish, Freeimages /  John Boyer Some folks like to criticize the military for keeping secrets and trying to find advantages in combat. Well, sure. There are people who want to hurt your country and people, you know. Getting the upper hand is common in the business world as well. The US Navy is studying these critters to learn how they do their camo thing. It is another aspect of biomimetics , where what is seen in nature is imitated for use by humans. Credit seldom ...

The Amazing Heart Mountain Detachment

Image
There are people who claim that they cannot see evidence that God exists, but that is willful ignorance. A bit more difficult is evidence for the global Genesis Flood, Uniformitarian (slow and gradual processes over long periods of time) geologists say there is no evidence for it. While the average person does not have the training to see Flood evidence, these folks are also willfully ignorant. Planation surfaces baffle them, the Great Unconformity testifies against standard views, other things — plus the massive detachment fault at Heart Mountain. Heart Mountain from Exshaw, Wikimedia Commons  Jack Borno ( CC BY-SA 3.0 ) Wyoming is home to Heart Mountain, and that sure is a lot of pet food — "You're thinking of Hartz Mountain, Cowboy Bob! The pet food company was named after a mountain in Germany." Oh, thanks. Heart Mountain had a huge rock slide in the past, and uniformitarian geologists have to leave their preferred paradigm and admit to catastrophism. That is, the ...

Scrapping Neo-Darwinism for Something Else?

Image
Proponents of minerals-to-musician evolution are passionate about their beliefs, often refusing to admit that biblical creationists have pointed out many problems in the current story. Some folks have said that scientists are in agreement about evolution, but disagree about details. That remark is self-refuting if you study on it. Also, there are scientists who admit that there are serious difficulties, which has been known for many years. Darwin's disciples ignore those comments or accuse creationists of " quote mining ." However, they fail to show that we are misusing the quotes. Pond, Unsplash /  Cowboy Bob Sorensen  (cropped) While many evolutionary scientists seem to go with the flow and think what they are told (but criticizing the predominant paradigm can end a career), some have enough standing to speak their radical ideas. While biblical creationists show that evidence supports a creation orchard instead of Darwin's Tree of Life, it has been said that evolut...

No, the Human Liver did not Evolve

Image
After a spell of target practice with my .44-40 Winchester (same loads for rifle and pistol), I saddled up and rode into town for gun maintenance supplies and ammo. While there, I encountered Russell Watchtower, who heads up the Ministry of Truth at the Darwin Ranch. We  went into the local eatery for lunch. I had burger steak and eggs, and Russ had beef liver with onions. In my childhood days, I couldn't stand liver. My parents let me have a hamburger instead. "I wonder if cannibals eat livers," I mused. Human liver, Wikimedia Commons / BruceBlaus ( CC BY-SA 4.0 ) "Sure they do," he replied. "Disgusting to us, but our burial practices are disgusting to those people as well. Some ate parts as a funeral ritual, others wanted to gain the strength of their enemies." I said, "Seems strange to want the strength of someone you've already defeated." He stopped with his fork in midair and stared, then guffawed. "Good point!" "You ...

Desert Beetles Drinking

Image
Some weather channels and sites have news related to climates, and they would do well to post about deserts. They form under certain conditions. The Namib is a desert like a strip along Namibia and a bit north and south in Africa along the Atlantic Ocean. It is actually a cool desert (Antarctica is also a desert but obviously much colder). The air is laden with moisture, so there is early-morning fog. The darkling (or fogstand) beetle has a very interesting way of getting the water it needs in this arid region. Fogstand racing stripe beetle, Wikimedia Commons / Hans Hillewaert ( CC BY-SA 3.0 ) Since water is in the air, the beetle angles its backside into the breeze. Those bumps on its shell help it collect the moisture. Droplets are formed and directed so that the beetle can drink the water. Once again, we see that the Creator equipped a creature with special survival features, but descent with modifications evolution storytellers are unable to come up with a plausible development sc...

Mutants Paraded on Leashes

Image
Big dogs, little dogs, pointed ears, floppy ears, many varieties at the dog show. Get out the leashes and take the mutants on parade. Breeding animals for specific traits has been done for ages, but nowadays it is mostly for appearance. This artificial selection is bad for the dogs. Darwinists and creationists agree that the ancestor of all dogs was a wolf, rich in genetic diversity. Purebreds often have genetic diseases that cause pain and early death in some. Want a dog for a companion? Get a mix, which has many genetic resources to draw from. Basset Hound, Unsplash / Apostolos Vamvouras The neighbor walks her dog that looks like a pot-bellied pig, which snorts and breathes loudly. Special breeds are not only expensive, but high maintenance — and a far cry from the original created kind . Although animal breeding is done through artificial selection, many of the same aspects of natural selection are involved. Natural selection (it is out of convenience to use that phrase since there...

Mystery of Mammoth Extinction

Image
Mammoths seemed to be doing rather well during the Ice Age, but the number shrank and eventually they all joined the choir invisible. Scientists want to know why. A couple of the major camps slap leather with each other because they think they have the correct answer. Based on uniformitarian deep time, of course. One camp thinks that the human population surged and the Clovis people (possibly the first Americans) hunted them to extinction. Spear marks like the ones the Clovis gang used were found on woolly mammoth skeletons, but this idea has flaws. Mammoths image, Flickr /  Andrew Wilkinson  ( CC BY-SA 2.0 ) Another idea is that mammoths died off because of climate change. (Yes, there is such a thing, but not the kind used by leftist fearmongers.) The scientists who think that the critters died from it point out that spears were unlikely to be so effective in hunting, and the marks were instead from harvesting the meat. This scenario has many problems as well, so secularists...

The Non-Vestigial Appendix

Image
There is, at a glance, an insignificant blob of flesh in the digestive system. Long derided as "vestigial," is the appendix. Because of evolutionary thinking, it has been surgically removed from people. Vestigial structures are considered leftovers from our evolutionary ancestry, so we do not need these vestiges anymore. Like other so-called vestigial organs, it has been discovered that the appendix is important. Evolutionists and much of the medical science community believed stories  about the past without using empirical evidence. Like "junk" DNA , they didn't understand something's function, so they labeled it as useless. The entire digestive system is complex, beginning from salivation. Organs work together. Some evolutionary sidewinders are so insistent on their lie that allegedly useless leftover prove evolution (which is assumed, not demonstrated), they even redefine the word  vestigial ! (When caught going against the truth, use semantic trickery , ...

The Amazing Design of Chameleons

Image
While visiting Ruby Slippers to discuss the upcoming nuptials of our mutual friends Stormie Waters and Roland Meadows, I was distracted by her pet chameleon. It was a real one, not an anole sometimes sold as a chameleon . This one was fully grown. It was feeding time, which is interesting. Ruby puts worms and crickets into the cage every other day, and I was there at the right moment. She opened the top and dropped them in. "Liz" was the name of the female lizard, and I saw an eye move and focus on lunch. Panther chameleon, Wikimedia Commons /  Charles J. Sharp  ( CC BY-SA 4.0 ) "Liz is interested. Watch and see if she —" A blur of motion and I was surprised at how fast the lizard zapped up a cricket. "There you go," said Ruby. "I'm amazed at how they were designed to have such specialized vision  and that it works with precision shooting of that sticky tongue. There's also a suction cup kind of thing on there." "Yes, clearly some sp...
