Evolutionists and Atheists Love to Pick Cherries

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen Whenever a writer or lecturer wants to make a point, he or she will ride herd on the citations, supporting links, and so on to make a point. It's the way things have been done for a mighty long time. What is not acceptable is to "quote mine" and "cherry pick" material to support your thesis. Creationists are often falsely accused of doing these things. Pixabay / Hans When evangelist Ray Comfort made his poor " the banana is the atheist's worst nightmare " claim, he was soundly criticized by atheists. Atheistic pope Clinton Richard Dawkins called him "the banana man" and an "ignorant fool" . Nice, huh? (Dawkins is persistently strident, and then wonders why people don't like him .) When Comfort was educated that the banana was intelligently designed by humans, he apologized and admitted his blunder. (He supposedly said, though I can find no original source material, "I was not aware tha

Sulpfur on Venus and Earth — Why the Difference?

Image
Venus has been called Earth's twin. More like "evil twin", because it has extremely hot temperatures (being closer to the sun causes "global warming"), lots of volcanic activity, sulfur dioxide clouds, and atmospheric pressure. The first probes to land on another planet were sent by the former Soviet Union, the Venera program ( Venera 13 sent back the first color pictures from Venus), but they didn't last long in that environment. Venus — Computer Simulated Global View Centered at 180° E. Longitude / NASA/JPL Although Venus is known for sulphur, Earth has quite a bit of the stuff, too. Here, we have a "sulphur cycle", where a complex system of information coded for in genes tells cells how to use the stuff. We need sulfur, but it can be toxic when used improperly. Or not used at all, like on Earth's evil twin, Venus. Earth was created differently. Both planets have abundant sulfur, but Earth life has a way of cycling it for good.

Evolutionists Barking Up Wrong Tree on Dog Fossil

Image
We've seen before that when Darwinists have evidence that does not support their claims, they have been known to fudge it to pretend they have not been falsified.  Way up yonder in Siberia, a dog fossil was found. What did they do? Made up another batch of fudge. (If anyone has a notion to make some for me, you should find a good recipe here .) So anyway... Go on, pet it. You know you want to. Credit: US National Park Service (Usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) Evolutionary scientists obtained disagreeing dates about the Siberian dog fossil, so they did what we dread to hear from our car's GPS: "Recalculating". There are problems with the framework in which they interpret data. Using a biblical timeline with recent creation, the evidence falls into place. DNA research identified a Siberian fossil as an ancient dog bone. But its radiocarbon date doesn't match the accepted evolutionary story for dog origins. The ease with which scientists

"Deep Time" is Not Compatible with Christianity

Image
Science is a systematic method for attaining knowledge that is dependent on the presuppositions of its users for the interpretations of facts. Christians who use naturalistic viewpoints and affirm an old earth are not only showing their lack of proper understanding of Scripture, but set in motion a domino effect of compromise from Genesis to Revelation. Old earth views are founded in naturalism, which has an atheistic basis. There are Christians who are firmly committed to an old earth because of what they consider to be "abundance of scientific evidence". Some are even theistic evolutionists (which I believe are essentially deists), and evolution requires "deep time". Many times, biblical creationists have faced unchristian, vituperative attacks from these people, and they frequently join forces with atheopaths in this derision. (It is almost laughable when people who hate God and his Word presume to tell us what the Bible "really" means; it brings

Turtles and — Architectural Engineering?

Image
Here's an understatement: turtles do not feel the need for speed. Many of us like to see the armored vehicles lumbering along (and even helping them get across the road, but make sure you don't get hit by traffic when doing your good deed), or admiring their markings. Their design (such as box turtles having their own "antifreeze" ) is quite interesting, as well. Box Turtle / Valley Forge National Park / US National Park Service The shells of these critters are not miniature army helmets. Instead, the Master Architect included many features similar to (and superior in many ways) advanced designs by human engineers. Unlike most reptiles, which escape danger by hiding or running, turtles carry around a protective shield and home all rolled into one. No other vertebrate does anything quite like this. A portable home requires special architectural designs—not just on the inside but for the whole body plan. I prefer to think of turtles as walking cathedrals, tem

Brain Size Does Not Indicate Intelligence

Image
“I have no doubt that I am very stupid, but I must confess that I am unable to follow you. For example, how did you deduce that this man was intellectual?” For answer Holmes clapped the hat upon his head. It came right over the forehead and settled upon the bridge of his nose. “It is a question of cubic capacity,” said he; “a man with so large a brain must have something in it.” —A. Conan Doyle, " The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle " Pixabay / Gerd Altmann It has been a staple of evolutionary dogma that having a bigger brain means someone is more smarter than us reg'lar folk. The Sherlock Holmes bit quoted above shows that view. Ever see the animated show " Pinky and the Brain "? They were altered lab mice, and the genius had the larger cranium. Problem is, the concept isn't true , and was even used as an excuse for Social Darwinism. Just another story to tell around the campfire when riding along the Evolution Trail. Another problem is that Dar

Eye Intricacies

Image
Today's post has two sections about the amazing human eye. (This is not repeating how tinhorns who claim that the eye has "bad design" are thoroughly refuted, but you can read about that here .) Today we'll look at some different things. Eyelids and lashes help remove debris. So do tears. Did you know that only humans shed tears through emotion, and Darwinists can't explain this? (You know, like when anti-creationists realize that they are clinging to their rejection of biblical creation despite the scientific evidence they think brings them truth.) When crying through emotion, opioid-like molecules are released and some are re-absorbed so you feel better. When we think about human vision, the first thing that comes to mind is the eye. But just as a star football player performs with other essential players on his team, our eyes are supported by key, well-designed structures that are absolutely essential to making sight possible. We will consider some of

Faking the Fossil Whales — Revisited

Image
Back on May 6, 2014, I posted about " Faking the Fossil Whales ". The subject was how Dr. Carl Werner documented altered whale fossils that were sold to museums, and the admission to altering was made in a video. Naturally, this generated heat from some owlhoots who were protecting their religion of evolutionism. After all, whale evolution is supposedly well documented — if you call storytelling from bits and pieces "documentation". I was attacked, Dr. Werner and radio show host Bob Enyart were impugned as well; it's a mite irritating to be called a liar by liars in the course of their lying. Rodhocetus  skull at University of Michigan Museum of Natural History / Wikimedia Commons / ellenm1 Some tinhorn came out of the gate with libelous accusations, and claimed that he had corresponded with Phil Gingerich, one of the people Dr. Werner interviewed on his video. Gingerich allegedly wrote in part, "I have been criticized for speculating that Rodhocet

Building Blocks of Life by Design

Image
Arguing from their worldviews, Darwinists see similarities between organisms and believe that it indicates particles-to-pathologist evolution. Biblical creationists take a more reasonable approach from their own worldview, seeing similarities indicates common design by the Creator. Changes in the building blocks of life through mutations are supposed to add  information. This does not work, since it has not been observed, and cannot be observed because it takes allegedly millions of years to happen. Also, regulatory DNA is a small part of the big picture, a fact that is hostile to evolution. No, the big picture is in a rather surprising place. The work of our wise common Designer is evident even between our genes. Every time a baby is conceived, his or her genetic blueprint is put to work orchestrating construction of his or her human body. Yet geneticists have found that primate animals share many of the twenty to thirty thousand protein-coding genes in the human genome. Fro

For Fear of Quantum Physics

Image
Quantum physics (a.k.a. quantum mechanics, quantum theory) can be daunting to say the least. It requires a great deal of analytic thought and skill in advanced mathematics and gets into subjects on the subatomic level. (Some people would probably prefer  bronco busting  to doing this stuff.) But it is a valid operational science. Unlike many of the natural sciences, it is mostly untainted by homages to Darwin, since evolution has nothing to do with it. However, quantum physics  is  supportive of biblical creation (Hebrews 1:3, Colossians 1:17). Newtonian (classical) physics covered a great deal of ground, but some things were left unexplained. (There have been people who say that quantum physics  replaced  Newtonian physics, but that is incorrect.) Some of the experts in quantum physics were reluctant to accept quantum theory, but they ended up practicing the adage, "Follow where the evidence leads". This area of science is supported by empirical evidence, although the
