No Sign of Evolution for Neurons

Image
Neurologists confidently put their pinky fingers to the corners of their mouths when announcing that humans have one hundred billion  neurons. Those nerves obtain information from the outside world so the brain can sort it out and direct muscles. They communicate with other cells via synapses. Ever strike a match and hold it too long, then yelp and throw it away when you got burned? Neurons are involved. Also, it may come as a shock to learn that there is an electrical component to neurons. GnRH neuron, B. Ian Hutchins and Susan Wray , public domain Believers in baryon-to-brain surgeon evolution presuppose everything evolved from simple to complex. It was thought that neurons evolved from cells called choanocytes  because of superficial similarities between them and nerve cells. Interestingly, although there has been a marked increase of late in fossilized soft tissue, there is not enough to attempt to trace the alleged evolution of neurons. They conveniently overlook living fossils —

Genome Maintenance Designed, Mocks Evolution

Image
Believers in descent with modifications evolution often claim that genetics (pioneered by Gregor Mendel, peas be upon him) supports evolution, which is false. Sure, with good spin doctoring, genetics can appear  to support it, but not really. Then we have genome maintenance. Imagine if you will that you have been given a maintenance job. You are given your uniform and shown to your special area with the supplies you need. This indicates that the supervisor anticipates what will be needed to effect repairs. This faulty analogy also applies to genetics. DNA and mechanic* Everything was fine at the beginning of Creation, but the Master Designer knew it would become corrupted and systems would break down. The blind, mad, gibbering fake god Evolution has no coherence or foresight, but God does and he put systems into place to offset the damage. Without them, humanity would already have become extinct. Our entire intellectual culture rests on the unscientific foundation of evolutionism. Evol

Sand Dollars, Sea and Shore

Image
Lisa Myworries, Winkie Guard supervisor at the Darwin Ranch up near Deception Pass, needed some time away. She went to the ocean and brought back sea shells (some purchased from Sara's shop at the seashore). In the mix were those things often called sand dollars . Many things on the beach are actually discarded by their former owners, some are even skeletons. A diver may see a colorful  living sand dollar and not make the connection with that white thing on the shore. They actually give testimony of the Creator's ingenuity. Sand dollar via PxHere They are sea urchins that burrow. The hairlike cilia help bring their tiny bits of food to their mouths, and they don't seem to be in a hurry to chew on and swallow lunch. The way they get their colors is rather difficult for scientists to determine. Also, their remains have been found up on mountains, which is yet another indication of the Genesis Flood. According to researchers, there are 150 different extant sand dollar species

Mitigating Evolution Indoctrination in Schools

Image
It is a fact that young people will be indoctrinated in particles-to-professor evolution in schools, whether public or Christian. Indeed, some homeschool curricula are not to be trusted. Some parents may want to shield students from evolution. Bad idea, because they will learn it one way or another — and possibly wonder why their parents are afraid of "the truth." Evolution is not just a biological theory. Instead, many people (especially in science organizations or academia) have evolution as a worldview, guiding their thoughts and actions, then preaching fallacious principles. University lecture, Pixabay / Nikolay Georgiev It may seem like drama, but it is a fact that professors use evolution as a "scientific" way of destroying the faith of students. Well-documented is the fact that students lose their Christian beliefs. Why is that? One simple reason is that parents are unable to answer questions, and just wave them off. They know that creation is true, but their

The Peacock Tail and Sexual Selection

Image
There were several things that Charlie Darwin did not like. These included God, design, the Cambrian Explosion , and the peacock's tail. His version of evolution postulated that living things are the products of unguided processes and the cruel, inefficient process of natural selection. He also got the notion of sexual selection, which was essentially that males paraded before females who picked a mate that looked the best. The peacock was supposed to be a prime example of sexual selection, but those tail feathers — the train — are examples of intricate specified complexity. Peacock, Pexels / Soly Moses Peacocks are native to Burma, India, and those parts. Want a peacock tail feather? Wait a spell. They shed their train later in the season. Also, even though that massive train looks cumbersome, the peacocks fly quite well if they take a notion. The structure and design of the tail feathers is intricate even under the microscope, and colors are a combination of several factors. Thos

Defusing Cambrian Explosion Excuses, Part 2

Image
This is the second of two installments, Part 1 is here . Several times, atheists and other evolutionists on teh interwebs attempt to wave off the Cambrian Explosion by downplaying its importance. One tinhorn challenged me by demanding to know why it is important, and how creationists deal with it. If they do not know its importance, they should not be apologists for evolution and deep time. But I think people like this enjoy attempting to put creationists on the defensive. It has been a major difficulty for many years, and efforts to solve the problem are doomed to failure. Life on Cambrian Miaolingian sea, WikiComm / Zhixin Sun et. al . ( CC BY 4.0 ), modified at PhotoFunia Note that in all of these things, evolutionists believe  despite  the evidence, and even resort to bad science and bad logic to protect Darwin from mean looks as he saunters down Evolution Street. They get downright deceptive. That's right, I said it!  No amount of tampering with data or reimagining it can cha

Defusing Cambrian Explosion Excuses, Part 1

Image
As discussed previously, the Cambrian Explosion is classified by secular scientists as happening over 10-25 million Darwin years. Animals with very different body plans are found, but there is no evidence of precursors . This has been a problem all the way back to Darwin, and evolutionists have been attempting to solve it ever since. There has been a great deal of recent news and noise by secularists presenting rescuing devices only to have them wither in the cold light of reason. Yes, some evolutionists want to cut through fake science. We have five articles, three today and two tomorrow, to consider. Diorama of the Burgess Shale Biota, Flickr / James St. John ( CC BY 2.0 ) Creationists know that the Cambrian Explosion is best explained by the Genesis Flood, but secularists reject that out of hand. Gotta have that naturalistic philosophy intact, you betcha! So we watch as evolutionists work on plans and others shoot them down. One was a speculation that the sudden increase in diversi

Radical Environmentalism and Hating Humanity as a Cancer

Image
Intelligent Design sites have some useful information, and some of the concepts they discuss are interesting to people who use critical thinking. While rejecting or affirming material because of its source has fragrance notes of the genetic fallacy, the worldviews of environmental extremists play an important part. In this case, the ID article discusses on a book by Dr. Warren Hern that claims we are a cancer. The "diagnosis" uses medical thinking to predict what will happen in our future. Downtown crowd, modified frim Pixnio / david Stuff like this uses invalid comparisons, incomplete information (for example, a person is far more complex than a cancer cell!), arbitrary assertions, ignore pertinent details, and more. People believe it, and this child maintains that one reason is because people do not use logical thinking, but simply accept sciency stuff. Also, radical environmentalists who declare war on humans  tend to come from an atheistic evolutionary worldview. Christia

Nerve Repair and Spider Silk

Image
It is indeed unfortunate that many people have a reflexive fear of harmless spiders, but a bit of education and identification can help. So can respect. Unfortunately, these critters tend to wander into our living quarters. Except perhaps golden orb-weavers that make impressive webs. Kevlar is used for body armor, composite materials for boat hulls, airplane panels, and more. When compared equally, it is five times stronger than steel. Spider silk is still stronger than that. Amazingly, spider silk can be used for nerve repair. Golden orb-web spider ( Nephila pilipes ), Flickr / Lip Kee ( CC BY-SA 2.0 ) When people study what is found in nature and apply concepts and principles to our lives, that is biomimetics. There is quite a bit happening in this truly fascinating field. Some scientists want to use golden orb-weaver spider silk for tissue and nerve repair because it supports many natural functions and does not hinder them. Perhaps this time they will have to admit that the silk wa

The Surprising Benefits of Clay

Image
Something this child believes but cannot prove scientifically is that one example of how our Creator cares about us is that he made many things for our use. He also challenged us, expecting us to use the minds that he also gave us.  Many were, uh, time-released so we would discover and use them as our knowledge and technologies developed in certain areas, while others have been there from the get-go. Clay is something that has been used for millennia, yet it can be easily transformed into materials that are extremely important. Throwing pottery, Unsplash / Courtney Cook Years ago, I had to visit a small pottery shop. You could sign up for pottery classes, purchase wares, and more. I was startled to see a gorilla making a vessel on the wheel, and in response to my quizzical gaze, the proprietor said, "That's our Hairy Potter." Clay is humble geological stuff that can be used to make items that are for short-term use, valuable pieces of art, and more. Add heat and the ceram

Miracles, Atheism, and Science

Image
In discussions with professing atheists about God and creation, miracles are often an important topic. Posturing atheists try to shut down that aspect of the discussion with arbitrary assertions that miracles are simply impossible. The reasoning can be summarized as, "Because atheism." That is, they have circular reasoning and other logical fallacies at their disposal that were produced by an atheistic disinformation clearinghouse; there is little original or deep thought in atheism. One simple problem they have is that to make the arbitrary assertion against miracles, the same illogical universal negative must be invoked against God. Raising of Lazarus / Carl Bloch, 1870 Indeed, I remember hearing a radio discussion between an atheist a man had written a two-volume set where miracles were substantially documented, even in modern times. The atheist refused to believe in them  despite  the evidence. But then, they must reject evidence and even logic when it threatens their wo

Dump Darwin to Save Science

Image
Some folks are so determined to negate evolution doubters, they find little things to complain about. One is word selection. They take exception to evolution  and Darwin  in an effort to strut their imagined intellectual superiority. Those are for reference, and you know exactly what we are talking about. Stop making excuses to avoid dealing with uncomfortable content. You savvy? We have seen many times that good research has been tainted by homage to Darwin, as if seeking the Real Science™ squeal of approval. Indeed, many evolutionists hide behind evolution in an effort to obfuscate their inferior research; " It evolved " is not science. Darwin trash dumpster fire, Flickr /  Cowboy Bob Sorensen  ( CC BY-NC 2.0 ) In my last article about that hospital stay , I mentioned how nobody discussed evolution in my hearing during all that time. Darwin is useless at best to medical science. It is also a fact that evolutionary thinking is proven to be harmful  to medicine. It would be f

Providential Timing, Death Warmed Over, and the Question Evolution Project

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen There have been a few remarks posted of late about my recent surprise heart tests and eventual triple bypass surgery, and I may do a series on another weblog about those experiences. In a few social(ist) media places, I mentioned that I could die during the treadmill stress test, the heart catheter (mayhaps I did not mention that part), and the surgery itself. There is always  a risk, and I made it clear that I was ready to meet Jesus. Yes, I used the opportunities for some evangelism. But the risk of death was much lower than I thought. Unwashed, thirsty, looking like death warmed over the day I was released from hospital, background from Pixlr At  The Question Evolution Project , I was working by my lonesome and was besieged by trolls with atheism spectrum disorder. Yet Another Trial of the Century

Image
Have you ever heard of haliography? (Watch the spelling, it is not about salt.) This was a new word for me, and the definition was regarding somebody writing about lives of the saints. But the next definition fits: someone is the subject of glowing terms in in biographical material. Gregg Jarrett coauthored a book called The Trial of the Century with Don Yaeger, and apparently they want to elevate Clarence Darrow to the level of secular sainthood. Daryl was the hero of the fictionalized version of the Scopes Trial titled  Inherit the Wind.  People have acted like the movie is a documentary, but that is the opposite of the truth. Now secularist jasper's come along and decided to try to sanitize history — again. Neither history nor science are told accurately. Clarence Darrow, 1913, Wikimedia Commons (public domain) How many times is something called "the trial of the century?" Many of these have raised a great deal of attention, but have fallen by the wayside. Clarence w

No Heart for Evolution

Image
Written on 10 August 2023.  Lots of waiting in this here hospital bed, but I am getting open-heart surgery on the of the eleventh. Please pray. Although I am ready to see Jesus face-to-face, my wife has medical problems and needs help right now. It is easy to take the heart for granted. When there is a problem (such as learning I could have a heart attack in the next thirty days), we pay more attention to that important organ that keeps us alive. Numerous features are designed to do an extremely difficult job all of our lives. An honest scrutiny shows that the heart defies neutrons-to-nurse evolution and testifies of the Master Engineer. Heart diagram, Pixabay / burlesonmatthew In the linked article, we learn about three obstacles for the heart to overcome. First, yes, it's a pump, but this bad boy is actually two pumps in one. Second, it has to stay put without banging around and overheating. Third, it's always going. Yes, everything was very good  at creation, but Adam's

A Silly Secular Excuse for Biogeography

Image
The question of how kangaroos disembarked Noah's Ark and reached Australia is a common one, both with Christians and unbelievers. It is a question of biogeography. Also, it is a fair question. There are many things to take into account when considering it. How did roos get from Mount Ararat all the way to Straya? Scoffers will use that as a kind of "Gotcha!" question for creationists because it does seem absurd on the surface that they would have hopped all the way over there. However, they are assuming that animals evolved in the places they are found today, even though there is no evidence for their evolution. The dispersion of animals is a problem for secular scientists as well, and one came up with a really wild-eyed idea to evosplain it. Brown kangaroo, Unsplash / Ashish Upadhyay Uniformitarian scientists need to explain how critters — including kangaroos — journeyed from one place go another. How about plate tectonics? Those are moving — Nah, too slow. Rafting? Darw

UFO Claims Without Evidence

Image
There was a time that people who believed in Unidentified Flying Objects and extraterrestrial life were considered to be a part of the kook fringe, but that is the opposite of the way things are today. There are respectable people who believe in UFOs, and they are in the news again. The newer designation of UAP (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena) came from the US government, and the changing of the middle name to anomalous from arial was because they followed NASA's lead on wording. Seems like a good idea. There are many reasons for the interest in UFOs, and if you follow the money, the funding comes from the secular science industry. Somehow they think if UFOs are found, it will prove that life evolved elsewhere in the universe, with the subtle implication that God does not exist. This is terrible logic. Old train with UFO in background via Pxhere US Air Force veteran David Grusch testified that the government had alien remains in its possession. Problem is, he did not g

Eradicating Falsehoods about Galileo

Image
It is a fact that atheists are not known for their truthfulness, and this spoils things for those who tend to be honest. The article linked below was published in 2009 but it is still a resource to counter errors and falsehoods about Galileo that are spread by atheists. One frequent talking point by misotheists is the fiction that there is a war between science and religion. This is easily dismissed because there are scientists who are also biblical creationists. In addition, many founders of scientific fields were biblical creationists — including Galileo. Statue of Galileo from Hippopx , background changed at removebg , Jupiter image from NASA The rest of this post will look a bit awkward, as I am using speech to text from a hospital bed between tests and things before my open heart surgery. The Roman Catholic Church was open to what Galileo had written at first. In fact, his problems came from the entrenched science establishment of the day. They were fond of the ptolemaic system, i

Magically Frankensteining the Big Bang

Image
As indicated several times previously, the Big Bang has little resemblance to its original incarnation. It has been Frankensteined over the years with material being added, some things lopped off because they are distracting to the main story, and fluffed up. The James Webb Space Telescope is a successor to the Hubble, providing extremely detailed images of stars and galaxies out there, thataway. Instead of supporting the Big Bang and deep times as many hoped, it caused problems — and even supported predictions by biblical creationists ! The Passion of Creation with JWST image from NASA , both modified Believers in the Big Bang have certain expectations and use the framework to interpret the data. They often have to make it fit the narrative one way or another. Probably taking his cue from the complex secular scientific principle of Making Things Up™, one owlhoot is running his idea up the flagpole to see if anyone salutes it. Not yet. But then, the Big Bang itself was originally met

Utopian Socialism and the Heart of Darkness

Image
Movements and philosophies are not the product of spontaneous generation. Instead, they grow from various influences over time until someone pulls things together and makes them popular. Charles Darwin did not create evolution , for example. Modern leftists are attempting to implement global socialism in some form despite its failings. Millions are dead because of it. Do they understand Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels wrote? Probably not. Communism is a goal of socialism. Utopian socialism predated those guys. Order of Victory of Socialism (Romania), Wikimedia Commons / Borodun ( CC BY-SA 4.0 ) The Cold War was a period of tension between countries controlled by the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) and Western nations primarily influenced by the formerly United States. Romania, Albania (once self-styled as an atheist nation), and most others formerly dominated by the USSR abandoned socialism and communism. The utopian socialist ideas were coming to the fore in the mid-19th ce

Disintegrating Comets and the Young Solar System

Image
Rusty Swingset, foreman at the Darwin Ranch up yonder near Deception Pass, gave me quite a turn the other night. I thought four-legged critters were roaming around, but Rusty was out there with his lady friend Jacqueline Hyde (who was not quite herself). They were getting quiet viewing of the Perseid meteor shower. When I pointed out that the Perseids peak around 13 August, they knew it. We commenced to discussing comet and how secularist think they formed millions of years ago along with the earth and other planets. Comet NEOWISE over Utah, NASA / Bill Dunford (usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) Creationists have pointed out that one of the ignored evidences for the young solar system (therefore, young Earth) are long-term comets . They fragment over time because of the sun and there should be none left after billions of years. One of the guns that uniformitarian scientists pull off the rack is the Oort cloud , which exists only in the realm of imagination. It is a ne
