Stupid Evolution Tricks — Hummingbirds and Human Brains

Image
It is so  easy to find flaws in evolutionary thinking, even a layman can do it. Of course, it helps when we have creationists who have scientific training to help point out their dreadful reasoning and show us that some evolutionary things are giggle-worthy. Mayhaps purveyors of evoporn are getting used to having their pronouncements accepted by the unthinking masses. Outrageous stories are becoming more transparent and more frequent. Here, we have hummingbirds and human brains portrayed as the products of accidents. Hummingbird and DNA brain , images from Open Clipart People who can set aside their Darwin indoctrination and honestly consider hummingbirds should be able to admit that they are miraculous examples of design . Darwinoids say they are the products of a lost gene and are stuck in high gear, but learned to evolve. Other "mistakes" were involved. Like the bumper sticker that says, "If it ain't country, it ain't music", nauralists act like, "I

Medical Adhesives and Biomimetics

Image
As most people probably know, biomimetics is taking what is observed in nature and mimicking it for human uses. Then they ignore the Creator or praise the puny gods of evolutionism. God has designed many things in nature for which we can obtain benefits through study and technology. This may not be directly  an example of biomimetics, but I expect to have knee surgery about six weeks from now. The effectiveness of elastic therapeutic tape (kinesiology tape) is disputed, but I have had less pain and more stability while using it. In some ways, this elastic cotton stuff mimics human skin. Just thought I would put this bit here. Medical bandages, Pixabay / Hans One way in which medical science has progressed is keeping repairs in place. Stitches are used to close up the skin but many times they do not need to be removed on a subsequent visit. They dissolve. How about replacing staples? Medical practitioners and patients alike would be glad of this. Some ingenious uses of biomimetics are p

Ancient Egyptian Stone Supports Bible History

Image
Imagine being a farmer working your field in Egypt and finding a large limestone slab bearing ancient writing. That thing was interrupting his task, but it is beneficial to scholars of history that he notified the Tourism and Antiquities Police. The slab — a stele  — is of interest to biblical historians. As creationists and many other Christians have long maintained, history recorded in the Bible has never been disproved (despite foolish arguments from ignorance and silence such as, "Archaeology has not found..."). Biblical history been affirmed numerous times, though it sometimes takes many years. Sphinx of Apries, Wikimedia Commons / Louvre Museum ( CC BY-SA 3.0 ) Yes, I know it is not a stele in the picture, but I did not think I had a legal right to use one. Follow the link to the article and you'll see a good image. The hieroglyphics on the stele are still being translated, but it involves Pharaoh Apries. These pharaohs were known by many names. This one was also c

Double Standards in Academia: Deviants, but not Creationists

Image
Most of the time, having tenure is a protective shield for academics. There have been many times when a teacher goes rogue but is allowed to remain is because of tenure. It is a difficult process at that point to have someone removed. It was, anyway. Depends on ideology. Secular educational systems are strongholds for the religion of secular humanism , although they deny it. Someone who is one of those horrible Christians has to keep a low profile as well as believe evolution. To be a Christian who rejects Papa Darwin ends careers. Francis Quadrangle, University of Missouri original image: PxHere Professor Change Laura Tan worked at the University of Missouri. Although she was a Christian since 2004, she became an evolutionist because she thought that's where the science led. Dr. Tan began to doubt Darwin when teaching molecular biology and writing a textbook on the concept. She discovered that the science did not support the claims of evolutionists. When trying to find answers in

Badlands: Made by the Genesis Flood

Image
When one mentions South Dakota, Mt. Rushmore may come to mind. More exciting to geologists are the Black Hills and Badlands. Millions of people flock to Badlands National Park  every year. It would definitely be a different kind of experience. Secular geologists have their slow 'n' gradual uniformitarian views of how the rock formations came to be, but their stories do not support scientific facts. Indeed, creation science models of the Genesis Flood present far better explanations of what is observed. Badlands formations with prairie grasses, NPS Photo / Troy Hunt (usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) Clay, mudstone, shale, all that good stuff is claimed by secular geologists to have been laid down over long periods of time — just look at the way it is now! Sure, some of that is happening nowadays, but this shows a mighty big flaw in their paradigm. Present processes are not a guarantee that things happened tin the same way all along. Come on, man, that's ma

Science Without Darwin: Pressure Cookers

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen It was a mite busy at my place the other day, what with Ruby Slippers stopping by for a visit. Stevia Dolce, baker at the Darwin Ranch, also dropped in. While Stevia is having doubts about the stuff they promote out there by Deception Pass, she tends to believe the lie that belief in evolution is necessary for science. Bill Nye the Propaganda guy and others demand more evolution be taught and the public convinced of  its importance, else science cannot progress: Young-earth recent creation teachings are bad for science. These ideas are believed by the uninformed and by anti-creationists even though easily refuted by Dr. Raymond Damadian and others. How about the science of the pressure cooker? Pressure cooker, Flickr / Joel Solomon ( CC BY 2.0 ) Thinking back after my visitors left, I have distant memories of my mother's pressure cooker. Olive green comes to mind. This one had a pressure release valve on top that would rock back and forth, chugging to gradu

Birds Seen through Darwin Spectacles

Image
As we have seen several times, evidence must be interpreted, and people interpret it through their worldviews. People say evolution is a scientific fact, but there is considerable disagreement among its proponents. Mayhaps it is a form of a circular reasoning game people play with their own minds (also inserting confirmation bias), but many evolutionists only see the evidence that fits their presuppositions. A recent book on bird evolution seems to be typical of the absurd agenda-driven thinking that we read about so many times. Modified from Freeimages / Kenn Kiser Professor Douglas Futuyma wrote the book under discussion here. He tipped his hand on his propagandist approach in a previous book where he used discredited arguments to support evolution. Like others, he is an anti-creationist, and makes some statements that, from a logical and scientific perspective are...truly bizarre. Doug talks about bird fossils even though he admits they do not help evolution. Also, he appeals to the

Genesis, Ephesus Harbor, and Radiocarbon Dating

Image
Rivers produce sediment through erosion, and they also pick up other particles, eventually dropping the silt when the currents decrease. At the mouth of a river, dropped silt changes the landscape. Harbors get clogged over time. The city of Ephesus was important in New Testament times, and was located on an estuary of the River Kaystros. This became silted up and useless as a harbor, and the silting was observed in recorded history. Geologists are studying the area but have troubles with the dating methods. Views of the harbor road in Ephesus, Flickr / michael.berlin ( CC BY-SA 2.0 ) Core samples were taken, but the radiometric dating involved has a great deal of difficulty from contamination and that cold ocean water inflates the results. There are also problems correlating dates with historical records. It is indeed unfortunate that secularists reject biblical history and creation science Genesis Flood and Ice Age models out of hand, since those would help them get better radiocarbo

Erythromycin on the Half Shell

Image
Marine invertebrates are interesting and useful to study, and we recently read about a clam as yet another living fossil . This time, we discuss clams that live in mudflats and produce erythromycin. That is an extremely useful antibiotic, sometimes prescribed for people who have penicillin allergies. Although most bacteria are beneficial, we know some are harmful. The mudflats (also, tidal flats) that the Asiatic hard clam calls home are loaded with bacteria (and have other dangers, watch where you walk). Tides or rivers drop a lot of sediment in these coastal wetlands. So how do we get clams that produce and important antibiotic? Stewart Island Oban Mudflats, WikiComm / Ingolfson (Public Domain) Marine invertebrates are quite at home among pathogens even though they are immune-system challenged. The Creator put something in these clams that are living dangerously while secreting erythromycin and other antibacterial activity. Naturally, Darwin's disciples appeal to evolution and m

Deceptive Study Promotes Evolutionary Indoctrination

Image
Can there really be any disputing that Darwinian indoctrination is increasing? Several posts referenced on this site show that babies are born ready to learn, read, and so on, but atheists insist that children are born atheist until they are forced to learn theism. Got a shred of science for that claim, Zeke? There are indications that babies are born with an innate theism and recognize that the world is designed. Misotheists in the secular science industry know this, and the best way to push out belief in God is to replace that belief with evolution. Illustration by  Sidney Paget , 1904, modified at Pixlr Photomash Studio In addition, misotheists accuse Christians of indoctrinating children, but those sidewinders are doing just that  under the guise of education . A recent survey claimed to show that how children are influenced to believe evolution contains bad reasoning and is deceptive. Anti-creationists want to reach as many teachers and students as possible to get them to believe

Hummingbird Hawk-Moths Exhibit Design

Image
The Master Engineer must like flying creatures since he made so many of them, and with a variety of designs. That seems to be a reasonable assumption. Some of those creatures be nicknamed Zippy because of their bursts of speed and sudden changes of direction. One particular critter is not in my neck of the woods, but people in Eurasia can appreciate the hummingbird hawk moth. While most moths seem to be satisfied with being butterflies of the night, this one is out in the daytime. Like hummingbirds. Hummingbird Hawk-moth, Flickr / Umberto Salvagnin ( CC BY 2.0 ) These skilled fliers use a huge amount of energy, so they need a great deal of fuel. Hummingbird hawk-moths sip nectar with their long, thin proboscis. Time is of the essence, but they can tell where they've been, so no wasting time with repeat visits. Also, their agility in flight may cause people to confuse them with actual hummingbirds. If you’ve ever taken a lazy stroll through a flower garden on a warm day, you’ve pro

Warnings about Scientific Models

Image
There can be no doubt that models are used extensively in scientific research, a subject we have discussed before. Models have a long history in science, and many were physical, not calculations on paper (so to speak). They have limitations and can also be used for nefarious purposes. Models (like computer programming and artificial intelligence) rely on the information they are given. Climate change models are known for having a basis in using data that will further an agenda, so inconvenient information is often omitted. Similar things happen with models involving the origin of the universe, evolution, climate change, and so on. Model of Royal Aircraft Factory S.E.5, Unsplash / Matias Luge Some folks are concerned about the way modeling is conducted in the secular science industry. There are times when models are too cumbersome and better results could be obtained with less, but there are disingenuous reasons for those at times. They are useful, but not so much when they are used to

Ammonite Swimming Robotics Tainted by Darwin Worship

Image
There have been many instances on just this site alone where some interesting research was conducted, but the scientists ruined it because they threw in the Darwin imprimatur. That is just an assumption, but the secular science industry wants such references despite their irrelevance. Extremely interesting research was conducted on ammonite fossils, and also using information from their nearest living relatives. Models were made using 3D printing, which were loaded with electronics and made to swim in water. The results were quite interesting. Asteroceras obtusum (ammonite), Wikimedia Commons / Nobumichi Tamura ( CC BY 3.0 ) The work conducted by the scientists was the result of extremely careful planning and engineering . As in those other instances, they gave themselves praise for their work (despite assumptions that were made and many limitations), but they threw around glory to evolution. (No word if they contacted the Darwin Ranch near Deception Pass to have prayer candles of C.

Radiocarbon Dating Failure on Ice Age Footprints

Image
Down New Mexico way, there is a place called White Sands National Park because it has, well, white sands in the Tularosa Basin. The story goes that during the Ice Age, Lake Otero was in the Tularosa Basin. It was a nice place with a wet climate. This area is famous for fossilized footprints, and the radiocarbon dating came up with an age of 22,000 years for one particular set from the Lake Otero Basin. Since rock cannot be Carbon-14 dated, seeds that were found in the area were subject to the analysis. It did not go well. Lake Otero image cropped from NPS (usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) Those seeds were not dated properly, and the radiocarbon atoms did not come from the ancient atmosphere but from old water. After recalculating, the age originally assigned had to be discarded. They were way  off. Unfortunately for secular scientists, their desires for deep time and the methodology used raise several serious questions. Maybe if they get that correlation with the ma

The Absence of Alien Contact

Image
Secularists know  that aliens exist out there, thataway — because evolution. Like other things related to atoms-to-alien evolution, they rely on the compex scientific principle of Making Things Up™. Those of us who are not content to simply accept "scientists say" want explanations. There is a glamorous idea of noble space aliens who are friendly, curious, and scientific. Do secular scientists consider that their invisible friends may be hostile, joyriding children, escaped criminals, trophy hunters, or conquistadors? Asking for a friend. Even so, secularists try to determine their motives for avoiding us. Alien spaceship, Pixabay / Lance One speculation is that Earth doesn't measure up. Our technology isn't advanced enough for them to initiate a first contact. Of all the nerve! There must be hundreds of advanced extraterrestrial civilizations, someone  must want to say howdy. See, I can speculate just as well as they can, and I do it for a lot less money. Materialist

Design Denial is a Science Stopper

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen From the standpoint of producing evidence for what they teach, biblical creationists can be baffled by the resistance displayed by anti-creationists. Some tinhorns claim that we never produce evidence — making such insipid claims on posts such as " Overview of Geologic Evidence of the Flood !" Material exposing evolutionary fraud and bad science is ignored or waved away. In literally thousands of books, articles, videos and such, Creationists and Intelligent design proponents have discussed how evidence for design is abundant. Instead of intelligently discussing interpretations of evidence, atheists and evolutionists go beyond insults and attempt to dehumanize us . Red-bellied woodpecker, Unsplash / Joshua J. Cotten When misotheists attempt to dehumanize us, it shuts down rational discourse. It also indicates fear on their part. Can't be letting evidence for design get wide circulation, nosiree! That's bad medicine for atheism. Further, what doe

Brain Fossil Unexpectedly Supports Creation

Image
With improved technology and analytic skills, well-preserved fossils are discovered more frequently. Older fossils are also being reexamined with new technology. Yet another fossil from the Cambrian is causing consternation for evolutionary paleontologists. Sometimes it is a bit surprising that previously-studied fossils are reexamined, and certain details are studied that could easily be overlooked. Bones and other hard things — sure those are are expected to be fossilized, but when brains and nervous systems were involved, paleontologists are surprised. Neurons, Pixabay / Gerd Altmann Tiny worms in the Cambrian were found to have brains. Even secular scientists will admit that brains are incredibly complex things, but to have such soft things fossilize cannot happen with the slow 'n' gradual scenario. The critters had to be buried quickly, like all those other organisms in the Cambrian, during the Genesis Flood. Once again, a rewrite of textbooks on "how brains evolved&q

Some Evolutionists Dissatisfied with Museum Reconstructions

Image
Believers in universal common have been known to patronizingly tell creationists and other evolution doubters to go to a natural history museum and learn. What people see are exhibits with tendentious usages of evidence, displays involving artistic license, and so on. Actual science, not so much. Remember, facts do not speak for themselves, but are interpreted according to worldviews , and then presented. Secularists presuppose evolution and make that their starting point. Unfortunately, many are so convinced that it is true (despite contradictory or nonexistent evidence), they play fast and loose with their presentations. Australopithecus afarensis , WikiComm /  Wolfgang Sauber ( CC BY-SA 4.0 ) Take a look at photos of  A. afarensis  (Lucy) models as well as other illustrations. I found some where a male specimen is gazing heavenward, as if contemplating the mysteries of the universe. Another exhibit has Lucy overjoyed that Alan arrived at the museum — or is that Steve? One model has

Oort Cloud Fails Secular Cosmologists

Image
A frequent evidence used by biblical creationists in support of  the young solar system is short-term comets . These dirty snowballs have elliptical orbits around the sun, and with each pass, part of each gets burned away. If the solar system were as old as secularists maintain, these comets would no longer exist. Jan Oort used some jiggery-pokery to help save deep time by saying that way out yonder, beyond the orbits Neptune, Pluto, and all that good stuff, is a huge collection of comets just waiting to be stirred up by wandering stars and such. Then we have comets again, deep time be praised. NASA / JPL, based on illustration by Donald K. Yeoman (Usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) There is no observational evidence for this obvious rescuing device. Like invisible space aliens and the Big Bang, believers in cosmic evolution take this by blind faith. Some are determined to propagate the mythology, sometimes through ignorance, but probably by deceit: Used under federal

Human Evolution and Missing Links

Image
Not long ago, Decker Halls was visiting the Darwin Ranch as a consultant or something. I saw Dewey Lye give him a lift to the train station, and after he adjusted the bough of holly on his lapel, Decker boarded the train. It turns out that Halls was trying to help them with the problem of missing links. Something that most evolutionists are unable to grasp is that they are presupposing evolution happened in the first place, then  they wonder why the evidence does not fit. This frequently happens. Mayhaps if they went back to square one and questioned evolution , they might not be so surprised that the links remain missing. Evolution is supposed  to be purposeless, gradual, and with a wagon train-load of transitional forms, but Darwin's disciples often make their own rules. Links between humans and alleged apelike ancestors are not only missing, but bad science and even fraud have been utilized to give the appearance that human evolution is settled science. Minerals-to-microscopist

Clam Up about Living Fossils

Image
When biblical creationists discuss living fossils  and point out that critters remain unchanged over alleged millions of years, it is common for internet misotheists to wave off the problem and want us to be quiet. It bothered Papa Darwin his ownself, and he admitted that there is little to no difference between fossil forms and living counterparts. Remember, the fossil record is supposed to display the plentiful transitional forms in the evolutionary tree of life. One excuse evolutionists have for lack of changes is stasis : things did not change because they had no need. Ridiculous. Lack of change is hostile to evolution but is expected by creationists. Bivalve mollusk (white clam, in this case), HippoPx How scientists are able to tell different species of clams apart is beyond the ken of this child. A bivalve mollusk (clams are in that group) was discovered and determined to be one of those troublesome living fossils. Interestingly, many whales are filter feeders, gulping down huge

Sneaky Evolutionary Propaganda and a Duck Dinosaur

Image
Those of us with healthy skepticism and some critical thinking skills find Darwinist propaganda a vexation, plain and simple. It is often expressed in various forms of artwork, such as in our alleged apelike ancestors where they have whites in their eyes — which cannot  be known, but it makes them look like they have vestiges of humanity. Dinosaur displays in museums omit modern birds, but they coexisted even according to evolutionary standards. Examples of illustrations based more on imagination than fact are numerous. Natovenator polydontus hunting fish, Nature Communications Biology /   Yusik Choi ( CC BY 4.0 ) Propaganda can be effective in displays, but their impact is drastically increased by crafty wording. Jay Seegert mentioned in a video  that people are impacted by headlines, and perhaps they actually read some of an article. However, they seldom realize that evolutionists are pulling the wool over their eyes, and the "evidence" for evolution is actually nonexist
