God, Space Aliens, and May the Fourth

Many space operas came along afterward, such as the dreadful Starcrash a year later. Fans do not really need a holiday, as there is something Star Wars frequently happening throughout each year. Some folks make a distinction between science fiction which is generally more serious and thoughtful, and sci-fi , which is usually mental fluff. Early Star Trek had real and imaginary science in their stories, and Stargate SG-1 used some actual science.
