Not only does it rely on various scientific fields, it is also a philosophy of life. This is ironic, since evolution is based on death. In addition to bad science and dreadful logic, evolutionary thinking has produced "social Darwinism". This in turn has given us the evil of eugenics,  where humans have taken the evolutionary view of natural selection into their own hands. Some people have decided that other people are unfit to reproduce, or even unfit to continue living. The expression, "Who watches the watchers?" comes to mind because who decides that some people are more "fit" to exist than others? Eugenics is the "science" of making such determinations, which has often been based in racism. Such thinking is contrary to a Christian worldview that seeks to defend the defenseless, help the helpless — and even doing good to enemies. However, we  are sometimes considered enemies by academics and those looked upon as the intellectual elite. C. People expect secular science researchers to act in an ethical manner. But what is their standard for ethics? Darwin? Survival of the fittest? After all, according to their worldview, we're all just bundles of chemicals following our impulses. When there are instances of fraud, plagiarism, false research, cover ups, disingenuous peer review — so what? They're acting in accordance with their materialistic worldviews. When someone says, "That's wrong! You're lying!", or something, they're appealing to a higher authority. The ultimate authority is God, and he told us what we need to know in the Bible. That is the final standard for ethics. Scientists cannot claim the final authority on moral high ground. Some people are saying that there should be standards, reviews, and so on in the scientific community, and the alarm is being sounded with a resurgence of eugenics — and this is being researched for genome tampering. We know that Hitler was an evolutionist , and no, he was not a Christian . Other tyrants were atheist evolutionists . (Today's vitriolic evolutionists are scary in their own right.) Some of those re captioned Hitler things are hilarious, and I had to try my hand at it when I got the inspiration to have him upset about Question Evolution Day . The Shadowed Mind by Julie Cave is the second book in the Dinah Harris mystery trilogy. Although the reader can probably read it as a stand-alone story, I recommend reading Deadly Disclosures first to get the background on the characters. Some characters from the first book reappear briefly, and one character that appeared briefly in the first book is important in this one. Some sequels are formulaic and simply rework the original story. This is far from that.
