The Worship of Logic and Mathematics

Image
Ever since Satan told Even that she and Adam can be like God (Gen. 3:5), people have been believing that lie. They even try to find God through assorted religions and spiritual experiences but reject the God of the Bible. Many even try to replace him with various contrivances including logic and mathematics. Credit: Pexels / Retha Ferguson Don't be disunderstanding me now, logic and math are extremely important. However, they are not supposed to be objects of adoration. Way back yonder, Greeks believed in the perfection of numbers and worshiped natural numbers. Since logic is necessary in mathematics, some folks took a notion to believe that pure logic was expressed in mathematics, so they subtracted God from the formula and thought they had found the perfect, self-contained source for logic and reason. This did not work. Other mathematicians demonstrated that math cannot be perfect and self-contained; they were essentially using circular reasoning and inadvertently appeali

Big Dinosaurs, Little Eggs

Image
While some dinosaurs were rather small, the ones that get our attention are the towering heavies. It is easy to assume that big creatures came from big eggs. Cartoons and dinosaur movies sometimes show extremely large eggs, but that is not the case. They hatched small and grew like other critters. What are the implications for Noah's Ark? Credit: Wikimedia Commons /  Palauenc05  ( CC BY-SA 3.0 ) An egg could not be the size of a typical human because the shell would necessarily be thick. In fact, it would be too think for the unhatched dinosaur to breath or even escape if it could breathe in the first place. Paleontologists have learned from fossils that, like humans and critters, dinosaurs had growth spurts in their younger years. Biblical creationists know that God brought animals to Noah. If you think about it, there would have been no reason to have the largest dinosaurs taking up a great deal of space on the Ark. They would have been juveniles, and after they disembAR

Feet, Footprints, and Kicking Evolution Away

Image
While Darwin devotees tell us that there are many fossils and bones to support human evolution, that is not the case. Paleontologists and anthropologists work with some bones and skulls (many are fragments), but teeth are sturdier and last longer, so those are utilized. What about the feet? Credits: Original image, RGBStock /  John Nyberg , cropped and run through PhotoFunia There was an interesting study that showed significant differences between human and ape feet. Our feet are stiff in the middle for running, jumping, taking a stroll in the midst of sagebrush, and so on. Ape feet are very flexible for climbing and such. Then the report took a nasty turn. While there are some honest evolutionists that have been conditioned to think inside the Evolutionists don't play the hand they're dealt, especially regarding Feet. They have to deal from the bottom of the deck and hide cards to play later to get the "results" they want. Since most are utterly committed to

The Coronavirus and Faith in Scientism

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen  There are people who label biblical creationists with the absurd pejorative "science deniers" because we reject atheistic interpretations of historical science regarding fish-to-fool evolution. (Labeling is easier than thinking.) Having faith in operational science is justified to some extent, but some do it religiously. Before we continue, it should be noted again that mockers accuse creationists of creating the distinction between operational and historical science, but that is demonstrably false . The COVID-19 novel Coronavirus has people frightened. This is exacerbated by several factors: leftist politicians using the situation to gain power and instill fear, confusing and unreliable models , fake news sites citing  spurious "studies" , Darwin's disciples falsely claiming that it is evidence of evolution , and so on. In the midst of all this, the public wants scientists to make things better. Unfortunately, God has been evic

Mount St. Helens Continues to Frustrate Secular Geology

Image
As most of us who pay attention to these things know, the concept that slow and gradual processes over a long periods of time is foundational to secular geology. This is called uniformitarianism, but creation scientists have successfully used catastrophism to confound many secular geologic views. Mt. St. Helens erupted in 1980 and provided evidence supporting the Genesis Flood and creation science. Credit: Unsplash / Jarred Decker Keep in mind that Mt. St. Helens was one of the smaller volcanoes. During the Genesis Flood, there was a great deal more volcanic activity, storms, tsunamis, and so forth happening all over the world. Creationists have been using geological evidence from the main eruption of Mt. St. Helens to demonstrate that rock layers could be laid down quickly instead of over millions of years. Now some secular geologists admit to catastrophic processes to some extent. Other observed information supports other creation science hypotheses and models. In addition,

Human Fossil Remains in Australia Thwart Evolutionists

Image
We recently examined a prairie schooner-full of articles introduced in two posts ( beginning with this one ) that demonstrated how the hands at the Darwin Ranch were busy rewriting their conflicting versions of human origins. Rusty Swingset, the foreman, got frustrated and went bowling. H. erectus fossil remains have paleoanthropologists trying to salvage or work around the Out of Africa (OoA) and Multiregional models. Credit: Flickr / Ryan Somma ( CC BY-SA 2.0 ) Essentially, Homo erectus was used in the idea that humans evolved in Africa and then saddled up to ride for other parts of the globe. The OoA model has had supporters and detractors slapping leather with each other for quite a spell, and several other models have been proposed to evosplain the data: those skulls in 'Straya don't belong there because evolution. Genetic research makes them worse for evolutionists. These finds are fine with biblical creationists, but there is some disagreement in their ranks re

Puzzing Polaris and Stellar Evolution

Image
Many of us in the Northern Hemisphere began stargazing by finding the Big Dipper (or Plough) and using the stars as pointers, and the two on the end of the "bowl" would point to Polaris , the North Star. This was also the beginning of the Little Dipper's handle. While Polaris seems fixed in the sky, it is not that way in the long run. Credit: Flickr / DSS / Giuseppe Donatiello (public domain) At one time, the North Star was Thuban, but that changed because of the precession of the Earth. Ever spin a toy top? It wobbles, and if you could have a laser pointer attached to the top, you might see it draw circles on the ceiling. The same thing happens with the earth, but since it is much larger, the precession takes a mighty long time and would take about 26,000 years to complete one cycle. Polaris is also a Cepheid variable , a kind of star that changes its intensity. (The name came from a star in the constellation Cepheus, which was the first of this kind of variabl
