Evidence for Humans with Dinosaurs

One source of mirth for professing atheists and other evolutionists is that biblical creationists believe humans and dinosaurs lived at the same time, but dinosaurs have since kicked the bucket and joined the choir invisible. Their narrative demands millions of years between us and them.

Creationists have shown problems with deep time, and even some secular scientists admit that the evidence is severely lacking. Indeed, there are legends of  creatures that greatly resembling dinosaurs in human history — and there are other evidences as well. Atheists despise these things as they point to recent creation.

Way back in the sixth century AD, a monk known as St. Lifard (or Lipardus, among others) was responsible for putting an end to a troublesome dragon. Was there truth to the story? I dunno, especially since the stories of his saintly exploits are far-fetched. Still, this is one of many accounts from hundreds of years ago of dragons terrorizing the populace (including the killing of livestock). It has been suggested that the dragon part of his exploits is a parable about good overcoming evil, but it has a different ring to it than the alleged miracles, including details of the story.

If the Lipardus story was all we had, I would be willing to dismiss it. However, there are not only legends, but artifacts from history that show humans and dinosaurs living at the same time. One even appears to have details that were unknown to paleontology until just a few years ago! Creation apologists must be careful when presenting such evidence. Several are debated among creationists, and some looked good at first but became things to be avoided in apologetics.

Biblical creationists have often pointed to some ancient accounts or legends of battles with dragons and dragon legends as based on real events. But dragon legends are not the only evidence of mankind living with dinosaurs, pterosaurs, and marine reptiles. There are often pictorial representations of these creatures on cave or canyon walls, carved into brass or clay, and drawn onto pottery.

. . . some of the best and most reliable evidences for man living with these creatures will be discussed and pictured in this article, but it is also worth mentioning that there are a few that are questionable, and some have been discredited. We’ll tackle those at the end. As Christians, we should not use faulty arguments or put forward as “evidences” things that have been debunked unless new evidence has been brought forth that call into question such arguments. That is dishonest and brings reproach on Christ’s name.
