Evolutionary Thinking Unwanted in Medical Science

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen  This is a different kind of article because it begins with a personal story. Although video recorders and cameras are ubiquitous, I think I escaped humiliation on social(ist) media. So I will humiliate myself by presenting a mental image. After doing some errands on the morning of May 17, I returned home and was not paying attention crossing the street. One foot on the curb, fine. For some reason, I did not clear the other foot and had a big fall in the spring. Credits: Freeimages / Kurhan , modified with FotoSketcher While holding the mail in one hand and a small bag with my purchases in the other, I attempted to keep my balance with some very long steps. It did not go well. I smacked into the ground and a glancing blow into a shrubbery. "Did it knock some sense into you, Cowboy Bob?" No, I didn't hit my head. Coming down the stairs of the entrance to the apartment building were two people. They were asking me if I was all right, needed to be take

Questions about Chicxulub and Dinosaur Extinction

Image
Devotees of Darwin and deep time often act like the Chicxulub impact was the only  cause of dinosaur extinction, but they are expressing the most common view and ignoring (or are unaware of) other ideas in the secular science industry — the majority view is not a guarantee of truth. In addition, there are several problems with hot Chicx that have been brought to light. It is not surprising that Christians and creationists want to know if and how the Chicxulub event contributed to dinosaur extinction. Credit:  NASA  (usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) Indeed, where does it fit with Genesis Flood models? Like their secular counterparts, creation scientists have various models and theories. When it comes to not only ancient history and forensic science, but how the Flood affected plate tectonics, climate change, landforms, the Ice Age, and more — theories are going to conflict. For example, see the highly technical discussion in " Flood impacts reinforce volcanic cool

Texas Spider Symbiosis and Evolutionary Puzzles

Image
The Chihuahuan Desert is the largest one in North America, and can be reached from the southwestern part of these here formerly United States, or northern Mexico. It touches parts of several states of both countries, pretty much dominating Chihuahua.  The folks at Midwestern State University got themselves a patch of land in Texas for research. A previously unknown spider was discovered, which is the only species or genus in its family. (Tiny thing, too, so I reckon not everything is bigger in Texas.) What is surprising is their symbiosis with ants. Chihuahuan Desert image credit: Flickr /  Justin Meissen  ( CC BY-SA 2.0 ) A symbiotic relationship is something that is beneficial to all the parties involved for their mutual survival. Believers in spores-to-spider evolution cannot explain symbiosis, relying on descriptions and benefits instead. Something else that evolutionists can't explain is the origin of spiders themselves, a subject that has been long debated. Biblical creationi

Fossil Leaves Problematic for Secular Scientists

Image
We have seen many times that deep-time geology and universal common descent evolution have many serious challenges, but people still choose to believe them anyway. Darwin's Flying Monkeys™ patrol teh interwebs to screech at biblical creationists and throw propaganda links at us, telling us that everything is fine for evolution. Not hardly! It was bad enough for the hands at the Darwin Ranch to come up with rescuing devices for dinosaur soft tissues, DNA, and such. Now they have to contend with leaves  of all things. Fossil leaves image credits: Original at Flickr / Bonnie Kirkwood  ( CC BY 2.0 ), modified at PhotoFunia If you head out Idaho way and take the last train to Clarkia  (actually, find Moscow and head northeast), you can visit the fossil beds and even dig some up for yourself (see  some excellent pictures at this link ). This is actually exciting news for biblical creationists because, like dinosaur soft tissues, these leaves refute deep time up one side and down the othe

Legends of the Flood in the Western Hemisphere Part 1

Image
Many disparate cultures around the world have legends about a world-destroying flood, usually brought about because deities were punishing human wickedness. There were only a few survivors. That in itself seems remarkable, but sometimes the details and their correlations with Noah's Ark and the Genesis Flood are rather startling at times. There are people who falsely claim that the flood story in the  Epic of Gilgamesh  was stolen by the Hebrews who lived not all that far away, but that can be dismissed through the cold light of reason. What about all those other stories? The Great Flood  / Artist unknown / 15th century The Native American tribes didn't have contact with the Hebrews. In fact, some tribes lived in close proximity to each other but still had different languages and cultures. How did the similarities happen despite cultures, languages and distances? Like unbelievers presuppose atheism and naturalism, Bible believers presuppose the truth of the Bible. Historical e

Quantum Mechanics in Bacterial Proteins?

Image
When people make components, structures, and so forth, they design them not only for specific purposes, but they also plan ahead for various contingencies. Everything must be in place and fully functional at once or it does not do anyone much good. Green sulfur bacteria use photosynthesis to obtain nourishment from light, but they must carefully regulate the amount of oxygen so that too much does not wreck the system. Researchers were amazed that quantum mechanics are involved in the process. Green sulfur bacteria image credit: Wikimedia Commons /  KOchstudiO / PD Engineers use skill, education, and training, but luck and chance are not a part of a good design. The study of the bacteria indicated design (eminently logical), but their naturalistic paradigms too precedence. Hail Darwin, blessed be! In fact, they evosplained their observations with the nonsensical term "evolutionary mechanism". By giving credit to a designer that is not the Creator, the pagan pantheistic nature

How to Conduct Insufficient Research

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen  On my original weblog, Stormbringer's Thunder , I was writing some articles about browsers, privacy, and extensions  as relevant to my Windows 10 desktop experiences. I conducted some of what I consider research because it involved considering variables, plus seeing what did and did not work. That became an odd inspiration for this article. It fits with discussions on shoddy research from the secular science industry, which in turn impresses the obedient lapdog fake science news media.  Credit: Pixabay / Gerd Altmann There is an extension that I use on all of my browsers called Reader View by Yokris (yes, they have a version for Opera, Firefox and its forks, as well as Chromium-based browsers). Great for relieving eye strain when reading at the computer, and the user can edit a page to some extent, then save it as an HTML document. Very helpful to me when making reference points. Read to me, Electronic Friends Reader View can read aloud to us. Users can sel

Evolutionists Monkeying with Brain Size and Intelligence

Image
Believers in atoms-to-apes evolution are still trying to determine why humans are in charge on Earth, so they are dreaming up ideas about why this is so. There are some weird speculations being floated around. It is said that the brain uses about ten percent of the body's energy all by its lonesome, so purposeless evolution decided to make changes to send wattage upstairs. Our large brains that draw a passel of power makes us better than primates. Sure, Sweetness. Now, where is the empirical evidence for your conclusion? From this, things get sillier. Image credit:  MR LIGHTMAN  at FreeDigitalPhotos.net Researchers pushing the boundaries of ethics used pluripotent stem cells to grow organoids of human and ape brains. The human organoids quickly grew larger than those of apes. Big deal. A report says that evolutionary change in cell shape affects brain evolution. Because evolution. Storytelling and conjecture, yes, but empirical science doesn't support the narrative. These and

Zebra Danios and Fake Evolution News

Image
Creationists try to be patient with evolutionary scientists, realizing that they are conditioned to think and work within the atheistic naturalism narrative. Many do not realize there are other ways to think other than what is pleasing to Papa Darwin and the evolution industry. From what we see, however, many are deceitful owlhoots. With sensationalistic and misleading secular science industry news outlets as well as iniquitous research statements coming at us, the public must be vigilant before accepting reports of evolution. For example, "limb-like structures" in zebra danios. Credit: Flickr / Bob Jenkins  ( CC BY 2.0 ) Zebra danios are popular with researchers as well as aquarists — "I can see the zebra part, Cowboy Bob, but why danios?" They are from Denmark. Actually, it's a combination of the descriptor and the Latin  Danio rerio . Some people of a different stripe skip that name and just go with zebrafish . If their markings didn't demand their monike

Marine Creature Extinctions and the Genesis Flood

Image
In creation science literature and videos, there are numerous discussions of dinosaurs and other creatures becoming extinct as the direct or indirect result of the Genesis Flood. Some apparently became extinct immediately while others survived longer. Changing conditions on the earth, hunting, and other factors after the Flood contributed to their eventual demise. Seems like we do not hear as much about marine creatures. Sure, we know about smaller shallow-water critters, and it seems like anyone who has tried a bite of paleontology can identify a trilobite. There are other creatures that were entirely or mostly marine organisms that seem to have disappeared, immediately or eventually. They, too, were not only caught up in the cataclysmic upheavals of the Flood year, but the underwater world changed a great deal as well. Were these disappearances caused by mass extinction events as secular scientists have proposed? It doesn’t appear so. These so-called extinctions are actually just the
