Mentally Disturbed Social Darwinists

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen First, a reminder that when people use the word  Darwinism today, it partly a convenience. Classical Darwinism was dying a few decades after it was set forth, but was changed and is now called the neo-Darwinian synthesis, modern evolutionary synthesis, and so on. When discussing origins, it is expected that people know what is being discussed when the words Darwinism and evolution are used.  Moving on. As shown previously, Darwinism is not just a biological theory, but a worldview. Social Darwinism  has been around almost as long as classical Darwinism, and applies survival of the fittest principles to societies. Mostly made at Atom Smasher It was popular in the last century, giving rise to eugenics , scientific racism , ruthless capitalism, and more. Karl Marx saw his economic and political views expressed in Darwinian natural selection . Take a look around at what is happening in the world today. A form of Marxism has been zombified and is walking around, co

The Enigma of DNA

Image
The words code  and cipher  are often used interchangeably, but there is a difference. When I was a small buckaroo, my parents used to spell out words in my presence. That code was abandoned when I learned it myself.  Codes have meanings, often substituting words or phrases, not necessarily containing secrets. (Morse code is not a secret in itself.) The spy trope where one says, "It will be sunny in Hyde Park", receives the reply, "Estelle is flying to Dresden that day", established contact. Each knew the code. Ciphers are a different species. Lorenz-SZ42 cipher machine via Matt Crypto , modified with DNA clipart Ciphers usually involve symbols, often replacing letters in words with other letters, numbers, and so on. A simple cypher would be if I left a note for my wife where all the letters are shifted over three: E becomes H, T becomes W — you get the idea. Sometimes a cipher contains a code as well. The message looks like nonsense until it is deciphered, but the

DNA Storage Still Lacking

Image
DNA is an exceptionally complex and important molecule, so much so that Bill Gates said that is is " far more advanced than any software ever created ." He knows something about computer programming. It is in our nature to learn the workings of the Master Engineer.  The specified complexity of this molecule, its importance to life, and relationships to other cells is amazing. To claim it is the product of mindless evolution is risible. Scientists have been making progress in sequencing genomes, and DNA is  being developed for data storage . Scientists are making progress in this area as well. Impressive, but consider what our living cells do by obtaining the right information at the right time. Don't be disunderstanding

The Immune System and Biblical Creation

Image
Discussions of life, biology, and so on are dominated by naturalistic underpinnings. Instead of natural selection, mutations, blind luck, and other things causing molecules-to-microbiologist evolution, biblical creation science is based on radically different perspectives. People have been saturated with these evolutionary views over the years, so they tend to be extremely curious and have natural questions for us about the immune system. After all, everything was perfect after God was done creating, so why should we need an immune system in the first place? Why do we need vaccinations, too? Credit: Pixabay /  Herney Gómez We are operating from what we see and experience in the here and now, but biblical creationists are working from both Scripture and science facts. For one thing, the immune system is not only there to fight off diseases, but has a regulatory function as well. Everything was created for a purpose, but many microbes left their first estate after the fall of mankind. Ma

Krichauff Range and a Call for Research

Image
Up in mountainous areas, someone may look down on a river. How did that get there? Nobody saw it carving its way over millions of Darwin years. Apparently, there is a dearth of research from geologists, despite several explanations based on their assumptions of deep time and uniformitarianism. These are called water gaps , which actually testify of the Genesis Flood . Selecting an argument for the formation of water gaps can be highly problematic, quite possibly based more on personal preference than compelling evidence. Finke River / Menphrad /  Wikimedia Commons There are unique features in the Kirchauff Range in Australia, graciously provided by the Finke River and Ellery Creek. These channels travel through several water gaps. They are inadequately explained by deep time concepts, and are better explained by Flood geology. The paper linked below is short but technical, and calls for additional research by creationists so Flood models can be improved. The term water gap, or transve

Circular Reasoning Silliness in Cosmic Evolution

Image
Whether it is cosmic or biological, atoms-to-astronomer evolutionary concepts are being herded by unscientific philosophical biases and presuppositions into the corral of atheistic naturalism. Using some critical thinking skills, people can reduce the deception. We have two articles to consider regarding cosmic evolution. These provide clear illustrations from astronomy of several basic approaches used in biology as well. As discussed in other posts, everyone has presuppositions of unproved beliefs that are assumed to be facts. For the most part, people are unaware that they are using them. Astronomers claim to be able to see a moon forming from dust around exoplanet PDS 70b (hey, that's my license plate

Alexander Fleming, Microbes, and the Signature of God

Image
In the 1973 Doctor Who  episode "The Green Death", Jo Grant spilled a certain powdered fungus on microscope slides Professor Jones was using. This happy accident resulted in a cure and was called serendipity.  To recognize serendipity, one must have the necessary knowledge.  Alexander Fleming was a Scottish microbiologist who conducted research during the two world wars. Some say it was serendipity, but he was guided through a series of Providential circumstances to discover penicillin.  Staphylococcus played a major part in his story. Made at PhotoFunia  using a public domain image Not only was Alexander's work guided by God (which is something he himself also believed), but the bacteria he was studying, those "bunches of grapes", exhibited a signature of God. While many of Darwin's disciples foolishly insist that evolution is essential to medical science ( a false claim ), Fleming's discoveries had nothing to do with evolution. While several forms of
