Dinosaurs and Biblical Creation

Image
Just the other day we saw a trio of articles about Tyrannosaurus rex . There has also been a spate of other articles about dinosaur bone discoveries, and the "Katie, bar the door!" bad news for deep time proponents:  DNA  and  soft tissues . Regular readers have probably noticed that not only is there a variety of subjects covered on this weblog, but the difficulty level varies. After all, different people are reading these things. The article featured below is rather easy and covers some basics of biblical creation views on dinosaurs. Credits: Derivative on Pixabay by Andrew Martin , then modified at BigHugeLabs Because we're biblical creationists, we are real  freethinkers and believe that dinosaurs and humans lived together for a while. There are descriptions of critters that seem an awful lot like them in the Bible, such as behemoth and leviathan . (I added those for people who may be interested.) The biblical view is very different from the old-earth evolutionary vi

Dusting off Betelgeuse?

Image
We looked at the red supergiant star Betelgeuse a spell back in " Betelgeuse Befuddles Astronomers ". Like many atheopaths, it is not very stable. It is also the kind of star that could be expected to make its own big bang and go supernova. Indeed, it was showing some of the expected signs for that possibility. Then things changed. Apparently, that dimming of the star followed by its increasing brightness could be attributed to space dust, and then that stuff went away. Orion with Betelgeuse emphasized Modified from an image by Pixabay / sl1990 It is highly unlikely that someone said its name three times or took a huge can of pressurized air and blew off the dust. Besides, the dust out yonder is not exactly the same kind that we deal with. That kind of dust is important to deep-time conjectures, including star and planet formation. Secularists have incomplete cosmic evolution speculations that are rejected by biblical creationists. What was responsible for Betelgeuse’s unusu

No Truth, No Science

Image
It may come as a shock to some people, but there are absolutes in the universe. Think about them: moral standards, people can think logically, do math and science, and so on. Because of a risible and self-refuting trend that truth is subjective, Francis Schaeffer coined the term true truth , meaning truth that was absolute. The idea that there is no ultimate or absolute truth fits in quite nicely with Darwinism, atheism, Marxism, and other false salvation philosophies. Atheists do not have a consistent moral standard, preferring their morality to be subjective — again, this is self-refuting . Credit: Pexels /  RF._.studio Science needs the proper environment . This precludes atheistic naturalism as well as pagan and Eastern religious views, which will not let science thrive. A number of biblically-based presuppositions are necessary for science. One of these is objective truth. If you study on it, the subjective or relative truth ideas of postmodernism make science impossible. This fit

Wrecking Three T-Rex Reports

Image
We have items that make reference to Tyrannosaurus rex , some more direct than others. It seems that it is increasingly frequent that the attempts to bolster Darwin's fantasies involve startlingly bad research, and the logic used should be utterly appalling to thinking people. As several other creationists and I have said, we need to have healthy skepticism about claims made regarding ancient historical science. Also, critical thinking is imperative: Question assertions and whether the evidence is valid; keep the pressure on them and don't be gullible. Now, about T-rex... Credit: RGBStock / Kevin Tuck Secular researchers have a habit of working from their naturalistic presuppositions, and interpreting data in a manner that should make Darwin smile. That's not science, old son, that's simply upholding a narrative. Tyrannosaurus rex  fossils were found buried together, therefore, they were social animals. Not hardly! Also, researchers acknowledged that a seasonal flood

Amazing Variety of Creation at Acadia National Park

Image
People who read this weblog have probably determined for themselves that our Creator likes variety and beauty. Someone who wants to appreciate nature can be overjoyed at Acadia National Park , found way up yonder in Maine.  For people who do "color tours" in the fall, it should be  quite a sight . As for mountains, well, depends on your perspective. Cadillac Mountain is the highest point on the Eastern seaboard at 1,530 feet. Taller than some, a molehill compared to others, but people like the view. Acadia National Park photo credit: NPS (usage does not imply endorsement of site contents) Look for the ubiquitous markers that government agencies put up about the age of the earth and the granites at Cadillac Mountain. The propaganda has been refuted, but old myths die hard with a vengeance. Lots of trees, varieties of wildlife, and more to inspire awe (see " Awe Demands an Awe-Giver "). Acadia’s visitors can enjoy appreciating creation ecology—especially wildlife and

Pluto Before New Horizons

Image
In a way, writing science-related posts is a mite frustrating. Things become outdated quickly due to new developments. It is also exciting to be able to learn and post about those new things that come along. In some ways, however, certain discoveries do not entirely negate previous knowledge. In this case, Pluto. It was kicked out of the Planets Club in 2006 and sent to the minor leagues as a dwarf planet, or Trans-Neptunian object. (I'm still not over that.) In July 2015, the New Horizons (not related to the Moody Blues song ) probe gave us pictures and collected data to study. It did not go well for the expectations of secular planetologists. Pluto from New Horizons . Image Credit: NASA, Johns Hopkins Univ / APL, Southwest Research Inst Over the years, the mass of Pluto was estimated several times, making it much smaller than originally projected. Supposedly it had and effect on the orbits of Uranus ("Father Sky") and Neptune, but its mass is far too small. Apparently

Platypus Genome Refutes Evolutionary Ideas

Image
Frankly (mind if I call you Frank?), I was going to pass this one by. Several reports were released a few months earlier . The article below caused me to reconsider, and it has information that I had not seen before. Darwin's Cheerleaders have long been troubled by this critter for over 200 years, and Ministry of Truth division of the secular science industry has been blowing smoke for a mighty long time. No, something that cannot be explained in  a naturalistic worldview does not  help them learn about evolution. Savvy? Credit: Wikimedia Commons / Klaus  ( CC BY-SA 2.0 ) We have seen many times that when evolutionists encounter recalcitrant data, they often claim that the news is "exciting". Then they proceed to change dates because something "happened earlier than expected", and pull other shenanigans to attempt damage control for the narrative. Especially storytelling and presenting unfounded conjectures as facts. It's who they are and what they do, and t

More Bee Biomimetics

Image
It is amazing to hear some tinhorns say that living things only appear  to be designed, but are really the products of random processes — then they draw inspiration from creatures to use in human applications. This is biomimetics  or biomimicry. One source of several inspirations is the honeybee. It is impressive when people will observe a critter and essentially ask, "How does it do that? Why is this beneficial?", then work on practical applications. It is even more impressive when they succeed. Credit: Pixnio / Jarno Have you ever studied a honeybee, or seen videos? Notice how the abdomen does a great deal of flexing. Seems like the friction there would make it wear out. Scientists are studying the bee to design moving parts that last longer. The evidence is clear, so when someone utters an unscientific, opinion-based statement about living things only appearing to be designed, they are disingenuous. The Designer is God, who is described in the Bible. Scientists have uncove

Early Earth Oxygen Levels

Image
It is necessary for believers in deep time and universal common descent to let the imaginations jump the corral fence and run wild. Then they come up with some stories that are...truly bizarre. Take a look at chemical evolution. Papa Darwin told Joseph Hooker that he envisioned life originating in a " warm little pond ". As evolutionary mythology progressed, scientists realized that while oxygen is necessary for life, it also would destroy abiogenesis. So, they dreamed up a world that had little to no oxygen. The evidence for this exists through inferences and assumptions. Catskill Mountains near Ashokan Reservoir — photo by Cowboy Bob Sorensen Things get worse for secularists because their foundation is fundamentally flawed, so it should be no surprise that earlier evidence for a low-oxygen Earth have been challenged by more recent studies. All of these exercises in conjecture are contradictory, but it's still more important to maintain naturalism and give Darwin billion

Ice Age Megafloods and the Global Deluge

Image
Sometimes it is necessary to use the expensive nine-syllable words. Uniformitarianism  is one of those that crop up in sites, posts, and articles related to geology.  Merriam-Webster currently defines it as "a geologic doctrine that processes acting in the same manner as at present and over long spans of time are sufficient to account for all current geological features and all past geological changes". You savvy that? In the past, people believed the Bible. Then uniformitarianism came along, and people who were ready to compromise their beliefs (or simply reject anything to do with the Bible) embraced it. Then uniformitarianism was challenged by observed evidence — such as the Ice Age. Uniformitarian doctrine was later rocked back on its heels by the Lake Mis
