Has "Science" Helped Us Advance Morally?

Image
Biological evolution has been taken as a scientific truth in nature and misapplied to society as a whole, with all kinds of evil as a result. Tyrants have based their murderous regimes on evolutionism [ 1 , 2 ] , eugenics and abortion [ 3 ] , and more are based on evolutionary concepts like "survival of the fittest". Of course, Darwin's Cheerleaders are popularizing evolution with bad science, relentless publicity and rewriting history. Ideas have consequences. Over the past century evolutionary thought has become dominant in much more than just the historical sciences. Other branches of science as well as education, law, history, public policy and media have increasingly been influenced by the idea that the world arose spontaneously. This tremendous influence of evolutionary thought has consequences that are largely misunderstood. The misconception is that, while there have been some missteps along the way such as in the twentieth century’s eugenics moveme

Darwin and Racism

Image
"Although atheism might have been logically tenable before Darwin, Darwin made it possible to be an intellectually fulfilled atheist." — Richard Dawkins, The Blind Watchmaker Darwinism has given a kind of false respectability and "scientific" justification for all sorts of evils in the world. "How can you say that, Cowboy Bob? Evolution is a biological theory." A biological "theory" with cooperation from several scientific fields, and extended into social sciences. Evolution has been used as a support for communism , Nazism , abortion , eugenics , racism , and more. Racism has existed for ages, we all know that. People will always find an excuse to hate someone they do not like, or is different (and then justify themselves). But racism is strongly supported in evolutionism, and can be found in Darwin's own plagiarized ideas. Radar has an article showing this, and his article continues into another article, "Did Darwin

Climate Change and Evolution

Image
As it is with minerals-to-meteorologist evolution, so it is with global cooling. I mean, global warming. I mean, climate change. Evolutionists and climate alarmists have several things in common: Appeal to consensus Only their  interpretations of evidence permitted Contrary data is ignored or suppressed Driven by atheistic naturalism paradigms Fact-free assertions used to "prove" their assumptions Climate change alarmists such as Extinction Rebellion are using the complex scientific method of being jerks to force political action, such as disrupting Amazon on "Black Friday"  and gluing body parts to objects . Others are irrational as well. Great way to earn respect and a seat at the table with the grown-ups — especially when leftists write incoherent biased "news" to support them. Evolutionists saw fit to saddle up and ride with that gang. As we have seen, the secular science industry is taking up leftist interests , including abortion , demonizing Christ

Darwinism and Laissez-faire Capitalism

Image
Although some people consider evolution to be a biological theory, Darwin's ideas have been used to formulate and justify many negative philosophies. Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, authors of The Communist Manifesto, were happy about Darwin's On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life.  Karl Marx said that it "provides a basis in natural science for the historical class struggle". Hitler was a Darwinist , the philosophies of eugenics are evolution-based, racism was "scientifically" justified by evolution , abortion has been supported by false evolutionary claims , and so on. Unfortunately, many liberal "Christians" also embrace evolutionism and shipwreck their fragile faith. Industrialist Andrew Carnegie (with his hero Charles Darwin added) People will find ways to justify their bigotry, selfishness, greed, and pride. (For that matter, see the kinship of atheism

Totalitarian Evolutionism

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen This article is an unexpected sequel of sorts to " The Pandemic of Unchallenged Darwinism " . Although Charles Darwin has been taking a dirt nap for over 136 years, his speculations still have a tremendous influence today. That is not because the science behind his work is so powerful that it is irrefutable. On the contrary, as scientific knowledge has grown over the years, the paucity of evidence for universal common ancestor evolution has become increasingly apparent. Why is evolution still holding such a lofty position with both the public and the scientific establishment? Background image furnished by Why?Outreach , then modified The primary reason that Darwin is still on his throne in the minds of many is that accepting evolution is a spiritual matter. If the origins controversy and the age of the earth were strictly about scientific evidence, most people would be biblical creationists, and Darwin would be just a footnote in history. Ev

Exploding the "Population Bomb"

Image
Many years ago, I saw a poster version of the 1973 painting Overpopulation by John Pitre. It showed all the land filled with naked people , some even in the sea. This was quite possibly influenced by the 1973 book The Population Bomb by Paul Ehrlich, who was in turn presenting a Malthusian view. Unsplash / San Fermin Pamplona - Navarra Thomas Malthus was an economist who had some very pessimistic views of population and the struggle for existence, and was also an influence on Charles Darwin. Ehrlich is an anti-creationist who was influenced by Malthus and Darwin, and The Population Bomb frightened many people. However, his vision was seriously flawed. Interestingly, he is still highly respected by leftists. Is that why people still think drastic measures are in order? Hey, Grandpa! What's for supper? Maggot sausage and insect ice cream to save the planet and offset global warming, of course! These people are mentally ill. The work was obviously based on numbers, did no

Worldviews and Secular Morality

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen When I go for an oil change, call technical support, order a pizza, see a doctor, or other things, I do not ask about the views of these people. I am more interested in getting the requested service done properly. Perhaps an opportunity to share the gospel or have an interesting discussion will occur. Credit: RGBStock / Sanja Gjenero These days, it seems to be the opposite. There are times when the way you self-identify (ethnicity, sexual preference, political affiliation, environmental extremist, etc.) is more important to misotheists than what you have to offer. In many cases, people with agendas will manufacture a crisis and manipulate the emotions of people. Tinhorns are gleefully hijacking the COVID-19 situation for their own fundamentally flawed worldviews. Dr. R. Albert Mohler discussed how there is an abundance of false research that is supported by the mainstream media. Why? It is no secret that the media are anti-Christian, anti-creationist,

Book Review: Creation, Evolution, and the Handicapped

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen This is something rather different for Question Evolution Day but it is about a subject that I think is largely neglected. As we have seen many times, atheism is irrational and unable to deal cogently with the conditions of human experience. Foundational to atheism are materialism and evolution. To be consistent with evolutionary thinking, "survival of the fittest" would, according to materialistic presuppositions, entail leaving anyone less than perfect  behind — or even eliminating them. The Nazis referred to Jews and other "subhumans" as "useless eaters" who consume food and resources but did not contribute to society. The same could be said for people with handicaps, but there are still people with a Christian worldview that will not let the handicapped be subjugated or exterminated. The "science" of eugenics (which justifies abortion) was popular in the United States in the early 20th century. This had people fo

Intelligence, Neanderthals, and Celebrating STDs

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen Hat tip to Doug McBurney for giving some inspiration for this article. The atoms-to-acrobat evolutionists at the Darwin Ranch have the view that people were stupid way back when. It's consistent with their philosophy, since we supposedly came from minerals, fish, animals, and up the ladder to where we are today. So, we're wired to be the best, right? Image credit: Pixabay / Cornfreak We're created in God's image but are in rebellion against him, so we're a mix of good and bad. Technological and medical advances, taming animals, the ability to compose music, write literature, and do all sorts of things that are not possible for animals to accomplish. We can also do something else that is unlike animals: self-destruct, whether individually, culturally, or destroy millions of our fellow beings in a short time. Also unlike animals, we can celebrate our downward spiral. We've made same-sex marriage not only legal, but want people

Human-Chimp Hybrids?

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen Secular psychologist David P. Barash decided that it is time to make human-chimpanzee hybrids, which would cross a significant number of ethical and moral guidelines . Psychology is not exactly a biological science, but the secular science industry as a whole, including psychology, is firmly entrenched in materialistic worldviews with evolution as the cornerstone. To push the boundaries and tamper with embryos and genetics is consistent with their fundamentally flawed paradigms. Not too long ago, scientists were lamenting that they were constrained against extending the lives of human embryos in a dish (evolutionary thinking supports abortion), wanting to keep them alive a bit longer. The chimera experimentation through CRISPR is increasing (see " Ethics, Scientism, and an Evolutionary Worldview " for more about this). Believing the false science that the chimpanzee genome is 98 percent similar to that of humans , that molecules-to-monkey evolut

Haeckel — Worse Than We Thought

Image
People say that "science corrects itself". (But "science" is not an entity, so right away, they are guilty of the fallacy of reification .) This is not completely true. When it comes to evolutionism, proponents will resort to various tricks to keep their worldview going despite the evidence. There are anti-creationists who insist that creationists (especially biblical creationists) are "liars" and "fact deniers". Their basis for such accusations? It is primarily because we do not believe in the atheistic, old-earth, evolutionary interpretations of the evidence. Further, we promote evidence that refutes evolution and affirms a young earth. This is contrary to the spirit of scientific inquiry. Interestingly, those who call us "liars" are guilty of blatant hypocrisy, promoting not only bad science, carelessness (by people who should know better), deception and even outright fraud. Worse than this, shoddy research and dishonest pron

The End at the Beginning

Image
A different kind of post today, just some personal reflections. (See what I did there?) Some of us tend to think darker thoughts a bit more often than others. On this first day of the New Year, I want to tell you about my impending demise. No, I don't know when it will happen, but scientists have shown two things. First, people are more likely to believe something if it is prefaced with "scientists have shown..." Second, everybody dies. "Big deal, Cowboy Bob. We all know that." I've been wondering what I will leave behind. Material things all wither and fade away. Some take longer than others, but they all go away. Some people think that things on the Web will last forever, but who knows — and if it does last, who will find it in the clutter? No, what I want to leave behind are transcendent things like knowledge and spiritual values. Evolution is a cancer. This Weblog alone has about 670 posts and articles that show how evolutionary thinking ha

Exterminate Humans for a Better World

Image
One of the dangers of evolutionary thinking is the way some two-bit owlhoots use their fundamentally flawed worldview to saddle the rest of us with their dictates. While taking care of the environment is a biblical principle , radical environmentalism is downright dangerous. Some think killing off people will bring about a utopia. Credit: Pixabay/ Free-Photos The ugly kid brother of radical environmentalism is the fanatical cult version of anthropogenic global climate change, and some tinhorns use the scare tactics of that to inflate the bigger picture that they imagine. To make the world a better place, eliminate a whole heap of humans. (This also fits with eugenics and abortion concepts.) Killing off many people is not new to the radical environmental movement , but this is a variation on a theme. Maybe the socialistic "Green New Deal" by Ocasio-Cortez will head in this direction if implemented? To be consistent with their evolutionary worldview, we should be abl

Musings on the Ken Ham - Bill Nye Unofficial "Second Debate"

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen First of all, I'll allow that I'm biased regarding Bill Nye the Scientism Guy (like so), because of his atheistic anti-creation activism, abuse of logic, and militant advocacy for his version of global climate change. Even so, I shall endeavor to be as objective as I can in this article about the unofficial "second debate" between Nye and Ken Ham at the Ark Encounter [ 1 ]. I was annoyed while watching it, and one time, a Nye fallacy actually made me LOL. A bit of background is in order. Bill Nye made vituperous attacks on creationism, and against Answers in Genesis in particular. Two AiG scientists challenged him to a debate [ 2 ], especially Dr. Georgia Purdom. He ignored them. Is it because "the Science Guy" is not an actual scientist? He earned a Bachelor of Science, but went no further in his formal education. [ 3 ] Eventually, the formal Ham-Nye debate was established [ 4 ]. I wrote an article about it, which included several
