Evolutionary Racism and the Buffalo Shootings

Image
Although he opposed slavery, Charles Darwin was a racist. His disciples become infuriated with us when we point out this fact and cry, "That is an ad hominem! " While it is indeed about the man, it is not fallacious. His racist views were instrumental to his version of evolution. Darwin considered black people and others to belong to less-evolved inferior races. Eventually, those "races" would be replaced by civilized man — white people. (This child wonders if the best white people were the Victorian English.) This exacerbated racism and formed "scientific racism." Tops Friendly Market, Flickr / Nicholas Eckhart  ( CC BY-NC-SA 2.0 ) The way mainstream media refer to white supremacists, neo-Nazis, etc., make it sound like there are quite a few of them. I have never met any. Yes, I've met racists but not the hardcore types, and turned down connection requests on social(ist) media for white supremacists. The Buffalo shooter on 14 May 2022 was racially mot

Deconstructing the Faith?

Image
There is a kind of pseudo-intellectual process called deconstruction , where people supposedly analyze their Christian faith and choose to modify it or apostatize. There are performers in the Christian music industry who have "deconverted", but this kind of thing is also done by people who are not celebrities. Several times in my own experience, I have heard of and even encountered people who claimed to be former Christians or ex-creationists. When they talk about what they left behind, they show an appalling lack of knowledge, indicating they never were Christians or creationists. Unsplash / Danny Howe It can be extremely helpful for people to question or deconstruct things they have been taught, which is something that I have done myself. There has to be a foundation, since everyone has a worldview . Deconstructing teachings based on assumptions and traditions, then seeing if they have validity according to the ultimate standard (for Christians, it should be the Bible) can

The Turtle Evolution Shell Game

Image
Recently, an angry atheopath demanded that I provide just one claim by evolutionists that is false. He also refused to read any of the posts, so why bother? At any rate, here is another that fits his demand. Darwinists seem to have a habit of saying that they have great evidence, but the evidence is poor. For example, animals claimed to be evolutionary ancestors for turtles either lived alongside them, or had no relationship to turtles at all. Then things get...downright weird. Turtle, Pexels  / Vlad CheÈ›an The great evidence for turtle evolution isn't. These critters are unique, and their shells are integral to their rib cages. There are numerous anatomical features needed. Scientists evosplain how they allegedly developed their shells a little at a time (which would make it more convenient to claim that some creature is an ancestor, despite the fossil record). The newest is claimed to be a "key missing link", but they are just dealing from the bottom of the deck because

Scientific Elitism and Critical Thinking

Image
When scientists write papers or give presentations to the public, obviously they should have superior knowledge on their areas of expertise. The problem is when scientists act like they are superior to other people beyond this. People have been told to trust and follow the science in many areas such as COVID-19, global warming, evolution, and others. Many experts who are considered outsiders raise questions and present contrary evidence to their claims, and the elitist attitudes of the previous are revealed. The performance masques have slipped quite a bit lately. This "1889 Guy" was colorized at Playback.fm , further modified with FotoSketcher This elitism is especially evident in the secular science industry. They "know" they are right, and have also been married up with leftist political agenda. Elitists are motivated to make others agree with them. Unlike biblical creationists, for example, who do not shield people from evolutionary views but encourage critical

Amazing Design of the Horned Lizard

Image
A popular character in old Warner Brothers cartoons was Yosemite Sam, who frequently wished bodily harm to Bugs Bunny. He would often exclaim, "Great horny toads!" The name horny toad is a misnomer for the horned lizard . The body shape kind of resembles a toad, though. They live in desert areas. There are other lizards that are faster and have other features, but the Creator equipped these to survive and thrive as well. Horned lizards have predators, but to chaw them risks internal damage. Horned Lizard, Wikimedia Commons / Room237  ( CC BY-SA 3.0 ) Living in the desert, they can get heat easily enough, but deserts get cold at night. Even burrowing into the sand isn't enough to prevent the cold from making a slow lizard slower. They have an interesting mechanism for warming up before fully emerging. Another feature that shows their design is how to eat without being eaten themselves; horned lizards also eat insects — lots of them. Then there's that unique internal wa

Dinosaur Size Matters

Image
When someone says dinosaur , what is the first image that pops into your mind? Most likely, the toothsome  Tyrannosaurus rex , a lumbering sauropod like a Diplodocus , the Velociraptor  as portrayed in the Jurassic Park  movies. The big guys get the best press. Dinosaurs came in a range of sizes. In fact, the Velociraptor  was about the size of a turkey. Some of the reconstructions are from woefully incomplete skeletons. Some of those views were later revised, and should make paleontologists repent of their hasty assertions. Spinophorosaurus,  Wikimedia Commons /  Nobumichi Tamura  ( CC BY 3.0 ) Using good remains, there are a few candidates for the longest and for the most massive. With the bigly-huge connotations, people tend to disbelieve that dinosaurs could have fit onto Noah's Ark. Yes, they were the largest created land creatures, but there were those small ones as well. Noah would have brought juveniles. If scoffers would allow biblical creationists to present our view from

Altruistic Birds Defy Evolution

Image
Stop, children, what is that sound from Deception Pass? We hear it all the way down to Stinking Lake (which is not as bad as it sounds). Well, foreman Rusty Swingset at the Darwin Ranch formed a band and called it Morphospace Expansion. They were singing about survival of the fittest. We have discussed spurious recent papers designed to make Darwin smile (such as " The Kobayashi Maru of Lizard Evolution " and the bad report on corvid evolution ), but we also look at inconsistencies in  evolutionary concepts. For example, birds can show altruism. Maggie the Australian Magpie in the rain, Flickr / I Am birdsaspoetry  ( CC BY 2.0 ) I have mentioned that we like the cacophony of corvids (especially blue jays) in these parts, and I have come to appreciate crows as well. The Corvidae family has some of the smartest birds. These and others exhibit altruism (although blue jays can also be jerks like other birds), and evolutionists have trouble explaining altruism and kindness in hum

The Kobayashi Maru of Lizard Evolution

Image
In Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn , a training exercise called the  Kobayashi Maru was presented. It was named after a spaceship, and the exercise was a no-win situation. The only time it was beaten is when cadet James Tiberius Kirk reprogrammed the simulation. He was commended for original thinking. Some may view that as cheating, but computer simulations are incomplete. However, when it comes to the evolution of lizards, which is one of many evolutionist  Kobayashi Maru scenarios, cheating is blatant. It is also applauded because the end result makes Darwin smile. Lizard, RGBStock / Michal Zacharzewski Once again, the "earlier than thought" expression is utilized. In this case, it was about the alleged evolution of lizards, snakes, and so on. The researchers claimed that these critters evolved in the Jurassic, and that was a time of evolutionary "innovation." Now this  is beyond just using a metaphor, and it is clearly reification; evolution is not an entity tha

Creation and the Laws of Thermodynamics

Image
For some reason, Stormie Waters was not so active in prospecting. I found out why when she stopped over and brought her new boyfriend, Roland Meadows. He seems a decent sort, and while we were jawing, he suddenly asked me laws of thermodynamics. Not exactly your typical mid-afternoon conversation topic, but I tried to oblige him. He knew that scientific things work their way up from hypotheses, then theories, and if they cannot be disproved yet, they become laws. The laws of thermodynamics are very important, and support recent creation. Universe image:  NASA / ESA / M. Montes (Univ. New South Wales); gavel overlay: Clker clipart (usage does not imply endorsement of site contents by anyone) Biblical creationists know that Jesus, God the Son, is the Creator and he also upholds the universe. One way this can be seen is the uniformity of nature , where things will operate tomorrow the same way the are today. Materialists cannot account for this, nor can they account for the laws of logi

Medical Propaganda in Evolutionary Indoctrination

Image
Proponents of universal common descent are rejoicing that more people are accepting evolution, partly through having  escalated their indoctrination efforts toward children . They actively censor Intelligent Design and creation science material with the excuse that they are "religious". That is disingenuous since evolution is foundational to atheism and the religion of secular humanism: They are promoting religion in public schools . Why is it so important to secularists to present only a naturalistic view and derail the learning process? Mostly made at PhotoFunia A frequent piece of rhetoric by secularists is that evolution is essential for medicine. That is the opposite of the truth. As regular readers have seen, evolutionary thinking is harmful  to medical science . Professionals and educators find it to have no practical value and just don't want it . But that doesn't stop some tinhorns from capitalizing on the coronavirus panics , and ramping up their censorship
